I really love the walk along the Embarcadero and you can stroll for a long time. Around here the views of the Bay and the Financial District are superb. Some places to stop to rest. And you can hop a street car.

A little bit to the side from the more touristy spots, Pier 7 hides behind the Financial district. It is worth the visit though, since the views are great in all directions. You can look out over the bay of course, but you can also look back at the city, and get an interesting angle on some of the skyline.

When I visited early one Saturday, it was quite peaceful with only a handful of people all scattered about. No doubt there is more life to the pier, but at the right times, it is great for a bit of a walk and some quiet self-reflection.

Nice Wharf is especially for photography lovers, with good views of the harbor, downtown, the skyline and the Bay Bridge. It is a very strategic point for good shots and a nice walk.

We had an excellent experience with twenty one people. Everyone's meals were terrific. The service and staff did an outstanding job.

This little pier has the charms and a nice view looking back on San Francisco and of the nearby cruise ships. Do not go during the day as it can get hot but at sunset when locals come out and fishermen actually fish (and catch many fish) at the pier. I'd recommend a visit as you stop by the ferry building , the exoloratorium or as you walk along the Embarcadero.

I was surprised that this was actually worth seeing --- so first off it is a nice wooden pier --- nothing more --- you are not going for the pier.

Second --- the views of Treasure Island, Yerba Buena Island and the East Bay are nice but nothing remarkable --- you are not going for that either.

What is special is the people on the pier (people fishing; relaxing) and the views of the city from the end of the pier --- that makes it special and worth the extra time and effort. As anyone in San Francisco knows, there are plenty of overhead wires making all of your photos less than spectacular. From here, though, I got gorgeous views of both Coit Tower and the Pyramid.

I recommend this 5 minute walk to the end of the pier as part of the Embarcadero walk; not many people walk on this pier so it is a nice find --- thank you trip advisor writers.

The Embarcadero can be very busy with tourists, joggers, cyclists, etc. The pier offers a nice respite from all the traffic as it juts out into the bay. With nice views of the Bay Bridge and the bay, it's a nice walk to the end and to stop and relax, even if just for a a short time.

Nice walking area with great views. Places to eat are also available in this area. Enjoyable when not over-crowded.

Pier 7 is THE place that provides a obstacle-free view towards the harbour front and the bridge. It is not as crowded as Ferry Building. I would recommend that instead of eating at Ferry Building, to-go and eat it here. If the weather permits, sit back relax and enjoy the view. It is quiet; an escape from the hustle and bustle of Ferry Building.
