Love it!

Second time I've been there for a show. Great performance, helpful staff. I loved sharing the experience with my kids today!

Always offer current top Broadway plays and musicals. We have always had good main floor seating and prices seem fair for our seats.Very easy access for public transportation, Bart out the door and down the escalator. Theatre is on street level with Taxis and Buses. Close to good restaurants within walking or bus distance.

When you can't make it to NY this is the next best thing to see your Broadway shows when you live in northern CA. Became a 2016/2017 member to get my broadway fix in

I've been to the Orpheum Theatre many times to watch Wicked, The Book of Mormons, The Lion King, and If /Then. I've always had a great experience. The line to get tickets and will calls is organized, the assistants are good to make sure that no one will enter after the show started. There is not much space between the... More

Love the convenience of seeing Broadway shows right in the center of San Francisco. The location couldn't be more convenient, on the BART/MUNI station, "Civic Center." On Muni, if coming from, say Caltrain station, or the Embarcadero, exit near the front of the train; if coming from, say, the Sunset District or Castro Street, exit near the back of the... More

Love this theater. It's beautiful and every play/musical we've seen at the Orpheum has been excellent. The lobby can be very busy during intermission. Ushers are super helpful in finding seats. Wouldn't want to walk far to parked car at night, but with a group or as everyone is heading out would be fine.

The Orpheum is one of those grand old theaters that are disappearing in a lot of cities. It gets first run Broadway shows. The problem is with the location: It would be hard to find a worse location. It's dangerous after dark and unappealing at all times. Parking in the area is very difficult and there are no good nearby... More

A group of us went to see Cinderella, the musical and really enjoyed the theater. The production was really good. We were in the mezzanine section and seats were pretty comfortable compared to many mezzanine seats. There was sufficient leg room-not a lot but ok. Our view was really good. One downside was the ladies room on that floor that... More

Great for shows. I would recommend that you go for matinees or that you are staying in the area. Parking is always difficult in San Francisco and Civic Center is not the best place to be in the late evening. The Orpheum Theatre recognizes this and has security guards ready and posted. Not bad if you live on the BART... More

Almost every seat has great views. We have been off to side on first floor and still felt our view range was very good. Rest rooms could be better but are not bad. It is really great that BART(Bay Area Rapid Transit) entrance/exit is right out front.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
