We walked all the way down these steps on a rainy day. There are great views which were limited because of the rain but still worth doing. There are amazing houses and gardens to see as well. There was a fitness group running up and down (power to them!) but they were polite and waited for us.

A friend recommended that I walk up to the Lyon Street Steps and enjoy the view. I am not used to walking hills and Lyon Street becomes very steep once you get past the Presidio. The steps are also not for people who are out of shape like me. The locals use them as an exercise track, running up and... More

A must experience for those visiting the Pacific Heights area of San Francisco. There is a beautiful garden halfway down the steps. The views of Alcatraz, Palace of Fine Arts and Angel Island are wonderful.

These steps should not be missed!! The bottom of these steps are at Lyon &Green in the Pacific Heights area of San Francisco. We were entertained by the locals "running" the steps and enjoyed the sights and views on the way up and at the top. This is an area where you can view some of the finest mansions of... More

A nice area with an AWESOME view to the Bay, easy parking. My boyfriend and I parked the car on Broadway and Lyon Streets at the top of the steps. Walked down to Lombard Street for breakfast at IHOPs then walked to and around the Palace of Fine Arts and took many pictures, we enjoyed watching the many creatures on... More

Pacific Heights is just a stunning part of San Francisco and this is an absolutely must see spot. Since there are only 12 TA reviews, I guess it hasn't made it to that many people's radar screens. Trust me....it is one of the most fabulous places to view this lovely city. It is located just on the edge of the... More

Lots of locals were out and about jogging up and down these steps. My brother and I took the bus to the top and walked down on our way to the Palace. Glad we came down instead of up! Gorgeous views, and beautiful elaborate homes on both sides. Cool spot on the city to work out if you were trying... More

Maybe it was the time of day I was here, but unlike Fillmore or 16th Avenue, there were quite a few people running these stairs with reps, and timing themselves. I found the lower stairs a bit too steep for my comfort of running, so had to pull over halfway up this portion to let a runner by. The upper... More

We walked down Lyon Street from our hotel on California Street. We walked to the to the Palace of Fine Arts and then back up. There are stopping points along the way to catch your breath. Young people are running them but it was not too congested. Loved seeing Dianne Feinstein's house, the Immigrant Heart, and views of Alcatraz as... More
