After buying tickets to see Disclosure at Bill Graham, I made several inquires to both the venue itself and the ticket agency. No one seemed to understand the true meaning of all GA tickets, how hard it would or wouldn't be to get balcony seats, if there was food, drinks, etc. We even asked the hotel concierge for her suggestions.... I attended the Apple Developer conference and the opening sessions were held here. Coming from overseas I was quite shocked over all the homeless in the area surrounding the venue. However, once inside this building it is quite magnificient and could be reconfigured from the key note speech with 5000+ seats to a concert hall with the same number of... More

Really excellent exhibition . Easy to navigate and great use of 90 min to 3 hours depending on level of detail. Only $12 to enter. There were a bunch , as in a large bunch of very young children at an event next door that should not have been allowed in as they were just a noisy nuisance and had... More

My family and I went to a Fall Out Boy concert here and had an enjoyable time. This is an old arena and the seats are SMALL compared to virtually any of the newer concert venues now in existence. The sound system was decent (we sat in the upper balcony area) and the arena is fairly steep providing good sight... More

This place was awesome. I attended a Tool concert here and found it well run, filled with friendly helpful people, had a cozy area where you could gather with friends for a drink and great conversation. There were minimal wait time for drinks and toilets. The theatre area was small so no seat or vantage point was bad. They had... More

A two day music event here and this was perfect venue! Room for everyone who attended, great layout, rooms for chilling, areas to sit, bars & food areas, staff was cordial, coat check was fast and efficient. All in all, a great experience.

We went here to see a Janet Jackson Concert. The Venue is nice and quaint enough to make it seem as though any seat in the house is a good one. My one complaint would be that they didn't have enough floor security, which lead to the isles becoming General Admission for some during the concert. Which being near the... More

My husband and I came to see Jack White here last weekend, and I was happy with the experience here. The seats are terribly uncomfortable and there are literally sixteen toilets for women in the the entire building. The staff made up for what the building lacked. Also, it is in kind of a bad part of town if you... More

It's kind of a one of a kind classic. It's not pretty though the exterior is kind of a neat period design. Way long ago it briefly housed the NBA team in town when they first arrived in San Francisco for a year or so. And that's what it looks like ... half of an old old basketball arena more... More

Neighborhood Profile
Civic Center
Civic Center is the seat of power for all things government and performance-related in the city. Although its streets are best walked during daytime, numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz center offer year round entertainment within the shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold tipped dome of City Hall.
