We decided to eat in this place after visited Golden Gate Park when we reached the ocean. This place offers an amazing view to the ocean and for this reason was full of people. But also because quality of food is great. We taked toast with speak and cheese and a plate composed of sauseges and scramble egges. Very good!... More

This place is great. Friends who live here took us. Live band in the back playing hippie music and getting everyone to share their love and sing along. Good food and house made beers with a view of the ocean. I was particularly interested in the WPA Art in the lobby area which was super and very interesting to look... More

Great place for a meal of you're out and about. The prices are slightly higher but you pay for for good service and food. The building was old and rustic which makes it unique. Our server was great and the beer was outstanding! I would definitely go back!

We were a group of 15 and the were able to accommodate our party. We did make reservations. The food was fantastic and I am surprised to see bad reviews about the food on here. The view is beautiful. The history of the building and the murals are a must see.

We had dinner here and the food was average. We had the beach burger and bacon crab melt which were overpriced. The beer was good and I can not remember which one we got. Our server was not friendly but attentive. The best part of the dinner was sitting at the window and watching the fog lift. And then, a beautiful... More

there were four of us at the table...fish and chips were bad...fish very fishy and greasy and the fries soggy; kale salad was limp and tasted like bad weeds; kids chicken strips caused the youngster to become ill and had to leave the restaurant and the "chowder bowl" had about 1/3 of cup of soup...and besides that the service was... We were at this place on a Saturday for midday repast. Having lived in San Francisco my entire life, I was very familiar with the establishment. This was not my choice of restaurants. Anyway, the crappy menu selection delivered to me refreshed my memory as to why I DO NOT like this place. The noise level made speaking among persons... More

Can we give this pla e a ZERO?? We decided after a several year hiatus from a horrible experience in the past that we would try the Beach Chalet.... again. What a mistake....again. We got there around 12:15 and the place was crowded. We sat and waited 20 minutes to sit for lunch. When we were brought to a table,... More

pro - wonderful view of the beach. Reserve a table facing the beach--youll see a great sunset. cons - food was average. nothing spectacular. Service was super slow although we went on a weekend night (thus the place was full) that is no reason for a 45 minute wait for the main course. Quite pricey for the quality of food

Murals around the first floor are fascinating, illustrating the history of San Francisco. Showcases provide information about their creation and materials used. Public bathrooms on the first floor, also - clean and neat. Restaurant is upstairs to provide a superb view of the Pacific, whether watching those on the beach, surfers, or sunsets. My friend and I were there early... More
