We were a group of 15 and the were able to accommodate our party. We did make reservations. The food was fantastic and I am surprised to see bad reviews about the food on here. The view is beautiful. The history of the building and the murals are a must see.

We had dinner here and the food was average. We had the beach burger and bacon crab melt which were overpriced. The beer was good and I can not remember which one we got. Our server was not friendly but attentive. The best part of the dinner was sitting at the window and watching the fog lift. And then, a beautiful... More

there were four of us at the table...fish and chips were bad...fish very fishy and greasy and the fries soggy; kale salad was limp and tasted like bad weeds; kids chicken strips caused the youngster to become ill and had to leave the restaurant and the "chowder bowl" had about 1/3 of cup of soup...and besides that the service was... We were at this place on a Saturday for midday repast. Having lived in San Francisco my entire life, I was very familiar with the establishment. This was not my choice of restaurants. Anyway, the crappy menu selection delivered to me refreshed my memory as to why I DO NOT like this place. The noise level made speaking among persons... More

Can we give this pla e a ZERO?? We decided after a several year hiatus from a horrible experience in the past that we would try the Beach Chalet.... again. What a mistake....again. We got there around 12:15 and the place was crowded. We sat and waited 20 minutes to sit for lunch. When we were brought to a table,... More

pro - wonderful view of the beach. Reserve a table facing the beach--youll see a great sunset. cons - food was average. nothing spectacular. Service was super slow although we went on a weekend night (thus the place was full) that is no reason for a 45 minute wait for the main course. Quite pricey for the quality of food

Murals around the first floor are fascinating, illustrating the history of San Francisco. Showcases provide information about their creation and materials used. Public bathrooms on the first floor, also - clean and neat. Restaurant is upstairs to provide a superb view of the Pacific, whether watching those on the beach, surfers, or sunsets. My friend and I were there early... More

We went there on Sunday the 13th of March for brunch, and my initial impressions were quite good. The staff were friendly, the place was packed and the ambiance seemed good. Problems started when the food didn't arrive together, we had to wait for more than 5 minutes for one of the meals to arrive after everyone else had been... More

Free parking...yes...and public bathrooms...in San Francisco. If for nothing else this makes Beach Chalet a lovely respite from the stress of the City. Food and brews are good and priced well for the City. Make it your SF hideaway too!

I recently had dinner here with a family member who was visiting from out of town. We wanted to have dinner and take in the sunset. The Beach Chalet itself is an old beautiful building which is quite impressive. When we arrived we were quickly seated by the seating host. There were plenty of available tables and lots of staff...
