I am so glad one of Walt Disney's daughters settled up north and decided on this location for the family museum. Well worth the price, this is an extensive collection of the Disney family history and the creative genius of Mr. Disney himself. Set in the gorgeous location of the Presidio with views of the Golden Gate, the harbor and... More

A MUST SEE!! We spent 4 and 1/2 hours reading, exploring, and interacting with the exhibits. There is so much information about the history of Walt and his wife, Lily, and the family , the short and long movies, and his vision for all of us to enjoy Disneyland and Walt Disney World. He had an amazing talent and his... More

I went to see the Pinocchio exhibit and enjoyed the time. There is a lot in the other buildings but this was all I took time for this trip. I am glad the Disney family took over part of the Presidio to use as their museum.

We anticipated to see something like DisneyWorld -style exhibits with bunch of cheesy entertainments and tricks. Nope! It's one of a kind - the creators carefully organized massive volume of archival information and told us a story about a guy with a passion to draw cartoons, his life, dreams, who influenced him, supported and inspired. You may want to secure... More

Let me start out by saying this is not a place most children would find that interesting. They apparently do not allow strollers either. Take them to Disneyland they will love it. Was so thrilled to finally get there. Been a fan of Walt Disney since I was very young. Even did my high school term paper On Walt in... More

We found ourselves at a loose end and the weather wasn't good so we looked for an indoor activity. We only had a few hours so didn't take the more expensive option offered by the museum, which included a showing of Pinocchio and would have taken a lot longer than the couple of hours we had. - We found it... If he is a Disney fan then this is a fantastic first date opportunity. If he isnt a fan, he may be after he visits. This is about Walt Disney not about Mickey Mouse, so be aware. Located in a beautiful section of San Francisco. Add this to your list when the family comes, they will be impressed.

Great museum. Very thoughtful and full of family articles. Beware tho, it takes a lot of time to read. Not much for children to do. But great exhibits, if you have the time

I was surprised at how expensive it was for a family of 4 to enter the museum. I guess it's true Disney fashion. This is not a theme park so I would not take young kids unless they are mature enough to stand and read. It takes about 2 hours to go through and you walk a timeline of Walt's... More

The Walt Disney Family Museum is simply wonderful! Located in the Presidio, it's a beautiful, peaceful retreat from the hustle of the city's downtown. You'll learn a lot of history at the museum. Walt's story is incredible -- he went bankrupt and "failed" so many times before success in films like Snow White or creating Disneyland. Learning about his family,... More
