Recently moved to the bay area from the east coast and found the tour a easy and fun way to learn the neighborhoods of San Francisco while stopping into a wide arrangement of restaurants for large samples of the local favorites. I would recommend this tour to anyone that is looking for a great experience trying different types of cuisines... More

We joined another couple one Saturday for the Fillmore Food tour. This has been rebranded and takes in more than 'just' Japantown, which works well as you learn more about the multi-cultural history of the district. Ahmed was a great tour guide and most importantly he had everything organised prior to our arrival. Every eatery that we pitched up in... More

Shane Fallon did a superb job during our Foodies Holiday Chocolate Tour. I've been on the chocolate tour before and Shane's expertise, knowledge about chocolate, as well as her travel experiences and other country's chocolatiers enhanced this tour. The walking is easy, the various chocolate places were ready for us, and luckily I brought a bag to collect the uneaten... More

This was not only a great chocolate tasting but also a wonderful guide to the city. Ahmet was our guide and led us through the history of chocolate and how to taste it. We walked a good three miles tasting all along the way. This was one of the highlights of our stay in SF.

Went with a group of work friends on the Chocolate and wine pairing tour and it was great! Very informative and a great selection of delicious chocolates and wine pairing finale. Ahmet was personable, informative, and a great tour guide. Giving recommendations on restaurants and even some recipe ideas! We saw some lovely hidden gardens available to the public on... More

We had such a delightful time! Ahmet was so knowledgeable about food, the area, the food purveyors. The choices of places and food were absolutely spot on. Two of us are from the Deep South but hope to move to SF in the near future. Another of our group loves and lives in SF and she learned much on this... More

My boyfriend and I took the Chocolate and Lights Tour in San Fran this past week and is was such a great date night! We got to taste a LOT of wonderful artisan chocolates (almost too much! We took some home and are still enjoying it!) and saw a lot of great Christmas decorations around the city! Shane was an... More

My husband and I took the Hayes Valley tour with Maria Antonio and had a fantastic time!! Maria Antonio was very knowledgeable about the Hayes Valley area and we learned a bit of history. The food was good and we ended up being stuffed at the end. I would highly recommend this tour; definitely something different if you are visiting.

In general is a good experience, but in some parts it becomes a little bit boring. Be aware of the weather it is also a factor that affect the tour.

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
