We stumbled onto this site by accident. No charge to enter or park! It was filled with locals and empty early afternoon when we were there. It was wonderful to sit at the waters edge, enjoy the kite surfers and boats, and enjoy the GG...More
This is a great, safer area of San Francisco to visit. The views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz in the distance were breathtaking. It's a great place to go for a walk. There is also a really cool, really...More

ok, I will be in San Francisco 5 full days. I have been recommended more than enough things to do. I also wanted to travel out of San Francisco to other nearby points of interest but I don't think time will allow. I will list all the places and things I would like to see and do. Any assistance you could provide in reguards to either omitting certain things or a well plan strategy to see most of them would be greatly apprieciated. Also, if you see something important not on my list feel free...More

Sequoia Kings Canyon is south of Yosemite not north of San Francisco. Mount Shasta is too far away to see in your 5 day visit if you also want to see Yosemite - based on your numerous inquiries of it here on TA.

Hi, We would really appreciate your thoughts on this itinerary for our 3½ day stay in San Francisco this August. Hopefully I haven’t over-planned and have come up with a logical route which can be done at a reasonable pace! We are staying at the Marina Motel on Lombard St and will have a car (although we intend to walk / use public transport most of the time). I have a bad foot so I can’t walk for hours on end!! Day 1 (Saturday) – Walk over to Crissy Field and along the bay trail...More

First of all, thanks for indicating the days of the week. That's helpful. On Saturday you can catch a bus directly from the Bridge to Union Square. Be sure you find the proper bus stop. I think it will be on the west side of the toll plaza for the inbound direction. The route is the 76X-Marin Headlands. Chinatown is only a few blocks from Union Square. You may have time to incorporate it on Saturday.

Would like some help in formulating an itinerary for 3 days in San Francisco and surrounding area. My husband and I like to walk, hike, bike and be outdoors. We arrive at 10 a.m on Friday, Nov. 10th and have Fri, Sat. and Sun. to explore before I start a training class on Monday. My husband will have 4 more play days, lucky him. We are staying at Hotel Griffon (near ferry building) and will have a car. Here are the things I am interested in but am trying to figure out how to split across...More

There is a 3 day itinerary in the top questions as well as info on why to not rent a car for the city part of your trip. Not Sure why your DH will need one at all -- except for a day to go to point Reyes and Muir woods
