Our tour guide was Adam and he was not only a professional but kept us entertained for the entire day. Our tour consisted of 13 guests and we thoroughly enjoyed the smaller size van vs the larger tour buses. Adam was extremely knowledgable and added lots of personal stories/history to the San Francisco City tour. I would not hesitate to... More

Our guide Adam was knowledgeable and entertaining. It was interesting to hear the history on the different neighborhoods and to visit Muir woods and Sausalito. He also told us where to explore the parts of the city not on the tour(i.e. The Presidio) We originally booked the tour to get into Alcatraz since this was a last minute trip but... More

I HIGHLY recommend this experience to anyone looking to get a really good tour of San Francisco. It was 6 hours and we started from the Fisherman's Wharf and ended the day at Muir Woods. We stopped several times to get off the bus and take pictures. Our tour guide, Gwilli (sorry if I'm not spelling that right!) was friendly... More

Great tour. Only had one day in San Fran and this was the way to spend it. Our guide Gweilbo-baggins was fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful. He even gave us recommendations for dinner and we went and had amazing Mexican food in Mission area of SF.

My two teenage sons and I visited San Francisco as part of West Coast tour. I wanted boys to see the city in a fun and exciting way and not just from a window of a tour bus. I was not wrong to book this! They loved the bikes and the speed and the hills! My youngest was always at... More

We all experienced 'A Day in the Bay' in July with Rolando. This was our first stop of a 5 week road trip, we're so glad we booked this as it gave us a great insight into San Francisco. It was the perfect length of time and Rolando was great fun which made it even better. We loved Muir Woods,... More

Just back from a California, during which we took Dylan's Famous Tour. Great information on the website and in emails before hand. Very convenient meeting point. We had the most fantastic day with Per. So many wonderful sights and views ; we would never had covered so much on our own and never have found half the places. Really well... More

Went on the tour with a friend with Eli being our guide. He was witty yet knowledgable about the city and was more than willing to help anyone snap some photos. Friendly and cordial, I would recommend anyone interested in Dylan's tour to request Eli!

Five of us took the six hour tour with Sam. We had a great day and saw so much of San Francisco, learning lots about the city on the way. Our three teenage sons loved the electric bikes and everything was well planned - including some very welcome sweatshirts as the day started out much colder than we anticipated. Our... More

I have done numerous tours around the world and this one was by far the best! Bob was our driver- he was funny, very knowledgeable, and gave an overall outstanding tour. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour (we did the basic full day tour). Great time!

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
