Last week we had the pleasure of a Dylan Tour of San Francisco, Sausalito and Muir Wood as seen though the eyes of our guide Eli. What a wonderful experience to say the least. Eli was well informed and shared some of his antidotes about San Francisco. There was plenty of time to make stops along the way to stretch... More

This was a great tour. Rolundo was outstanding. He knew the area and was an excellent guide. We saw so much of San Francisco and learned about the history and the areas. He answered all the questions that everyone asked. Bus was comfortable. I would definitely recommend this tour company. Loved it!!

The bike tour was awesome. Garrett was very thorough and informative. We had a great time and were able to see so much of the city in less than a day. The electric bikes made riding a breeze and Garrett made sure we were safe the entire time. Overall an amazing experience that we would definitely recommend to others!

We did the Famous Tour with Eli during a girls trip to San Francisco. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it. Eli was full of information about San Francisco, Sausalito and Muir Woods. We used several of his suggestions for places to eat and things to do during our remaining time in the city. The bus... This was our first day of our 10 day vacation to California. We took Dylan's famous tour with Julio. We were with a small group of 12 people which made this very personal. Julio took us through many neighborhoods which gave us a wonderful cultural experience. His love of his city is apparent and he is passionate when he speaks.... More

I was pretty nervous about going on a tour since I was traveling with my seven month old daughter but it went better than I expected. Our tour guide was Eli. Not only was he knowledgable and charismatic, he was also very helpful throughout the trip whenever we made stops. The tour was awesome! This was such a memorable trip... More

We had a 9-person van tour led by Grili (sic?), a super nice SF native. We went to several neighborhoods - I liked The Haight the best - Take the guide's advice and get sandwiches from the market he recommends - Dutch Crunch bread (the best). Liked Muir Woods but could have spent more time there. Impressive big houses in... More

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
