My boyfriend and I was in the city for only 2 days, after a long roadtrip in Cali. We wanted a good and easy way to experience the city, and Dylan's tours sure was what we hoped for. In 6 hours we got a lot of SF higlights and introduction. The guide (which name I unfortunately do not remember) was... More

Our bike tour with Edmund was one of the best ones I've been on mainly because of the cool electric bikes and the tour guide! Before going on the tour, the entire staff makes sure you're well fitted and comfortable with your bike. Our guide really knew his stuff and had so many food recommendations for us after - we... Terrific tour - so glad that we did it! We took the tour our first full day in SF. We saw so many areas that we would not have seen otherwise. Beautiful picture opportunities and plenty of stops along the way. Marlin was a great tour guide - while he must give these tours quite often, his info doesn't sound... More

I booked A day in the Bay Alcatraz tour out of desperation when I realized all Alcatraz tickets were sold out for the days we were going to be in San Francisco. It was a long day but well worth it. Our tour guide, Adam, was born and raised in San Francisco so very knowledgeable and quite funny. The tour... More

My family and I had a terrific time on our Dylan's Tour. We had just a few days to spend in beautiful San Francisco and wanted an efficient tour. In 2.5 hours, we were driven around to most of the amazing neighborhoods in SF and got to see billionaire's mansions, wonderful vistas, and best of all Jerry Garcia's house (my... More

We did the 2.5 hour tour which was packed with info, sights and stops. Our teens loved all the colorful commentary about the citiy's history and highlights. Perfect way to get your bearings and overview of the city. Our only complaint was the sound quality in the back of the van was poor. Sounded like a wiring problem or blown... More

Hey, Dylan's tours lived up to the hype! We wanted to do the Alcatraz tour, but it was booked up so we settled for the famous tour which was an awesome backup plan. Eli, our tour guide rocked! He was very knowledgeable, he knew the town very well, his food choices were great and his directions to get around were... More

We booked a private tour for 8 people. John happily customized our tour for us and added a few extra stops not included in the itinerary. We have taken many city tours in the US and Europe and this tour was by far the best tour that we have been on. We definitely saw much more of the city that... More

Our 'Day in the Bay Tour' was fantastic! Our tour guide Julio was engaging and knowledgeable & made it a day to remember. He knew the all the best places to stop for our photos, answered everyone's questions; the 6 hours flew by. Muir Woods is beautiful, Sausalito is the perfect place to have lunch & the trip to Alcatraz... More

We are beyond thankful that our virtual concierge at our hotel recommended Dylan's Tours the day we checked in. She was able to get us into the 9 a.m. "famous" tour that left out of the Wharf area. She had told us it was a smaller group and that it touched on many the highpoints of the area so that... More

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
