If you are in SF you must come and take a look. If you can come on a Friday it will look like pageant due to all the ladies getting married. Pretty awesome to see.

We didn’t expect this outstanding building. We were on our way back to the hotel with a lyft driver who knew the area well. She gave us the outside tour and details. Fascinating!

Stately building with a gorgeous courtyard in front right across from the Asian Art Museum. A wonderful area to walk around and explore!

I checked out SF City Hall with a friend, and thoroughly enjoyed it! This is not something you typically hear about when visiting the city by the bay, but if you've got time in your afternoon, it's certainly worth a stop.

Beautiful building inside and out. Recommend viewing ground and basement floors for interesting period architecture. Ballroom at the North end of building is magnificent. Have been there for some events. Worth a look at this building if you're in the area and it's open. The...More

Civic Center is the seat of power for all things
government and performance-related in the city.
Although its streets are best walked during daytime,
numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to
one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz
center offer year round entertainment within the
shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold
tipped dome of City Hall.

SG Resident getting married in San Francisco (5 Replies)
Hi, good day to all! I am from Singapore and am researching on getting married in San Francisco City Hall this year. I understand from the SF County website that there are two appointments to be made 90 days in advance - first being the marriage license, and the latter being the civil ceremony. I am planning for a 2-weeks vacation in SF as this is the maximum number of days that I can get away from work. This is an important milestone in our lives and we are a little disappointed that we...More

It is up to your country, Singapore, if an apostille is required. You need to check with the Singapore government to find out.

My partner and I are planning to have our wedding ceremony in San Francisco City Hall during the early evening on Thursday July 3rd (6:30ish). Our officiant indicates that since City Hall is a public building she can officate a small ceremony (without chairs or decorations) in City Hall without arranging it through the county clerk's office (and has done so on quite a few occassions so I don't doubt that's the case). My specific question is, the City Hall website indicates that the building...More

The same as any other M-F day, the building is open to the public, unless it has been rented out for an event like the Opera or Symphony Dinners. While the building may be open until 8pm, the City offices close at 5pm.
