On my wedding night, instead of running off to our honeymoon, we chose something different - we went to the Symphony. The San Francisco Symphony was absolutely incredible! We chose seats that are usually occupied by a choir, which are behind the orchestra if the...More

MTT and the San Francisco Symphony are terrific! We were lucky enough that our trip to San Francisco coincided with the SFS performance of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony!

Just a great experience even if you're like me and don't have much knowledge of classical music. The audience really gets into it.

Great performance of Fidelio. Michael Tilson Thomas was an awesome conductor and Nina Stemme and Brandon Jovanovich were outstanding. There were lots of chances to get really cheap tickets close to the actual event. Music - fantastic!

Beautiful building, wonderful acoustics, exciting programs. MTT is a City (if not a national) Treasure. If you are visiting, it's worth a ticket. If you live here, shame on you for not going as often as you can. SUPPORT THE ARTS!

Civic Center
Civic Center is the seat of power for all things
government and performance-related in the city.
Although its streets are best walked during daytime,
numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to
one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz
center offer year round entertainment within the
shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold
tipped dome of City Hall.

Dress can be casual. People wear everything from neat jeans to fancy clothes. The building, the experience and the music are so much fun, it's fine to sit anywhere. Just enjoy!

Sorry, I don't know. I'm from Australia & booked with the box office in advance so as not to miss out. However I did notice a few vacant seats the night I attended so probably no problem for a last minute ticket.
