You haven't really been to San Francisco until you go to Beach Blanket Babylon. It's a fantastic satirical musical review full of celebrity and political characters. The singing and music is exceptional. Look for cheaper tickets on discount ticket sits. It's a fairly smaller venue...More

This has been around forever and still hysterical. It is just a great night out and fun entertainment. Remember it is mostly first come first serve for seating so make sure you show up early. Just remember what city you are in and that will...More

We've heard about this show for years and finally decided to get tickets and go. We stayed in a hotel about 3 blocks from the theater (SW) so we wouldn't have far to walk after the show. It's funny and fast-paced. The costumes are great,...More

We had an absolute ball at Beach Blanket Babylon - only in San Francisco! The theatre was not too big (I think every seat would be a good seat) and the front of house staff were just lovely. The show itself was just fabulous -...More

I was expecting more political humor than pop culture, but it definitely fell more on the pop culture side. Regardless, it was a hoot and I laughed a lot while being very impressed with the talented cast. The cheap seats are perfectly fine, I can't...More

Yes, there are cheaper seats. We sat downstairs, about 20 feet from the stage, close enough! It's a small venue. In the front section, where the seats are like a cocktail lounge, with small, tables.

Beach Blanket Babylon or Teatro ZinZanni? (4 Replies)
Heading to SF in April and we would like to see a fun and entertaining show. Both of these look interesting but would like an opinion on which is the better show to choose. Has anyone seen both of them or can give me an idea which is the better of the two? Would appreciate any help.

If you're into a "comedy" show that's non-stop, Beach Blanket Babylon is definitely the show to go to ....Its San Francisco to the hilt; and the hats they wear are amazing! If however, you're into a total experience.....dinner out, fun show (but similar to ones you will find elsewhere in the country) Teatro ZinZanni is better. You did not mention how many days you are in SF....If you are here only 1 or 2 days recommend Teatro ZinZanni as the location allows you to see other things right...More

I have seen a reference to this in several postings. Could someone enlighten me as to what this is? Street Entertainment? Formal show? Cost and location? Something a 25 year old and fiance on first visit to SF would enjoy? Thanks.

Check the San Francisco Forum: tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g60713-i30-k45837-… There was a post about BBB that had quite a few answers. The last answer is relevant to your question.
