I went to Fog City News, which is on Market Street, to purchase some greeting cards. It is a well run store and has other items like magazines etc.

Best Independent San Francisco Legendary Phenomenal Store that you will ever experience. The chocolates are beyond Paris. Buy chocolates, an International magazine, a unique one-of-a-king greeting card and a mini purple sock monkey soft toy.

I have been buying my gourmet chocolate and greeting cards here since the store opened. This is by far the best store of its type - owned by one of the coolest, most interesting/curious, and most knowledgeable guys around, with a wonderful staff to match. Adam, the owner, puts out a monthly newsletter for members (membership is free), chock full of fun information, discount days, and “secret specials.” There are free chocolate tastings - they really do want you to experience new and delicious, hard to come by flavors. You get a discount on your birthday. The greeting cards are often so clever I find myself laughing out loud (go early for holidays for the most complete selection as great ones often sell out very quickly) - this is my “go to” shop for original cards. The magazine selection is extensive and contains the eclectic stuff you can’t find just anywhere. And now they also have stylish calendars and a fun selection of “stuff,” just because. Stocking stuffer shoppers’ delight! I am a devoted fan of Fog City News - may it continue to provide its appreciative audience with fine chocolate, must-have-them cards, great magazines, delightful surprises and, most importantly, a truly personal shopping experience for years to come!

This place has cards that make you laugh and cards that you actually feel good about giving to people. Funny, irreverent, right up to is-that-appropriate and sometimes beyond. Great store.

There is quality chocolate, yes indeed. And, the best magazine selection in the City. But the card selection is the oft-overlooked star of the show here. Dollar for dollar, few things create as much joy as receiving - and sending - the perfect card. You will find that card at Fog City!
