There are more shops on Union than anywhere in the City. There are also a large number of homeless people in the area. Be careful.

We were walking down the street as our hotel was very close by and every corner there were homeless people asking for money. I love this city and it has a great vibe but there are just too many homeless asking for money. I don't...More

We did a little shopping and a little wine drinking at the Union street shops in cow hallow. Very pleasant. Nothing in terms of shopping, eating and drinking that you will not see in other great cities, but pleasant on a warm afternoon.

At first glance it reminds me of Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. The Union Street Shopping District contains some of San Francisco's best eateries, art galleries, fine jewelry stores and trendy boutiques. The street is long, so plan on spending at least half a day...More

Union Street runs through San Francisco. It is a residential street in parts, it has quaint shops, restaurants and bars. Its also a well preserved neighborhood. Its well worth going up from Cow Hollow allowing you to have good views.

Union Street runs nearly the width of San Francisco, from east to west, extending from its point of origin at the Bay, parallel west between Green and Filbert Streets to its end at the Presidio Reservation, a former Army base, adjacent to the fabulous GGNRA,...More

Walked by this intersection en route elsewhere but enjoyed the sites and sounds that bring out locals and tourists alike in this neighborhood filled with interesting shops and restaurants. Nice to walk around.

Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.
