About
Incredible Adventures is an outdoor travel company specializing in tours from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park, Muir Woods, California's Napa and Sonoma Wine Country, and whitewater rafting on the American River. We've been offering travelers a safe, eco-friendly, reliable way to connect with nature since 1993, and our professional guides are experts in the destinations we visit throughout the Western United States. We strive to provide personal, unique experiences for our small groups (16 max). We accomplish this by creating relaxed, flexible itineraries for our tours, and by going the extra mile - both literally and figuratively - to assure an authentic view of the lesser-traveled roads and sights of our beautiful California countryside. We believe strongly in maintaining the wild lands and National Parks of California (and all over the world), and know that tourism can be a strong factor in whether these magnificent areas continue to thrive for future generations to enjoy. In order to minimize the environmental impact of our business on the destinations we visit, we operate our vehicles on sustainable, petroleum-free biodiesel fuel made from local recycled cooking oil. Our fleet is made up of 13-20 passenger mini-coaches which all run on B100! From the mild to the wild, in a day or overnight, in a hotel or at a campsite, escape to the great outdoors with Incredible Adventures!

Early start and two long days with loads packed in .
Our guide, Johnny was brilliant - knowledgable and approachable
The trip meant we saw fantastic views after fantastic views and the photos just don’t do Yosemite justice.
Company kept us updated , right until the day before with departure times and our guide kept us updated throughout with the itinerary.
Would recommend this trip and this company

We went to the Farallon Islands yesterday. The whole trip was awesome. Make sure you listen to the instructions and read the info they provide carefully. Bring layers. Bring many layers. As long as you do that, you can enjoy the breathtaking views, and you do not want to miss anything. I do not tend to get motion sick, but I still took a Dramamine before we began. It helped not to worry about it and just enjoy. We went into it knowing that we may not see a great white, but then…we did! There was a beautiful ~12-foot great white just about 10-15 feet from us. It calmly glided by. And it was definitely the highlight of a great trip. It was really cool to see the islands up close as well - home to the most birds I have ever seen.

Many thanks to the crew on the WylieCat for the adventure!

My friend and I took the Muir Woods, Sonoma/Napa wine tasting and it was great. It was a long day, but filled with fun, great wine, and a whirlwind tour of the Muir Woods. I highly recommend!

There are many tours offered from San Francisco to Yosemite and, like you, I did my best to find the best one. The tour overall wasn't bad; however, it was not worth the premium I paid over the competitors' pricing and the description wasn't entirely accurate.

- It absolutely is not a 20 hour tour. This must be a typo. The van left SF around 7 and returned 8:30.
- In March, the roadside fruit stand you stop at along the way must be closed, because we stopped at a regular grocery store.
- The short rest stop on the return trip is at a gas station. If you are diehard excited about the biodiesel van, realize they fill up with regular diesel for the return trip.
- Nothing delayed us (no traffic, slow travelers returning to the van, line at entry, etc.) however our time in the park was 2.5 hours. The driver was worried about hitting traffic on the return.
- The 1.5 hour driving tour reflects the time it takes from entering the park to get to the parking location, with time for photo ops. This was not a guided tour by any means. Our 'guide' was a driver who did not tell us much of anything. What do you expect with no PA system on the van?
- Finally, the vehicle was like an executive minivan. I literally had less room in my seat than I did on the airplane home from San Francisco.

Do you want to spend over 8 hours cramped in a seat smaller than the one you get from an airline?

Thank you so much for your feedback, and we are sorry to hear that the tour was not everything you hoped it would be. We will be sure to change our page description to make sure a better time estimated is reflected - we typically estimate that the total trip time takes about 13-15 hours. In regards to our biofuel vans - Incredible Adventures strives to run 100% of our fleet with fully petroleum-free alternative biofuels. We’re proud to say that all of our vans leave San Francisco every day with a full tank of biofuels. However, due to the lack of supply in certain areas that we visit, we’re occasionally forced to supplement. There are no alternative fuel stations in/near Yosemite National Park. Many stations around California have closed or dropped their alternative fuel selections due to heavy government regulations and lack of demand. Although we’re constantly researching fuel stations offering alternative fuel blends in their tanks, this proves difficult in remote areas. Travelling from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park and back (round-trip) is impossible on a single tank of biofuel. With our mini-coaches’ smaller tanks, we maximize our usage of biofuel and supplement with diesel given the availability in the surrounding area. We train our drivers to fuel up with the least amount of petroleum fuel as possible. If you see our vehicles fueling at traditional gas stations, they are often only putting in the number of gallons it requires for us to safely return to our station, Dogpatch Biofuels, back in the city. We hope this gives you some clarity! If you’re ever back in San Francisco, we hope you’ll return for another tour with us so you can spend more time enjoying all the beauty in Yosemite.

this is not really a tour and hence expensive. do not get me wrong, we had a good time, as we were only with the 2 of us. A personalized taxi-ride to the tech valley. visited Facebook ( outside), Google ( campus) and apple ( campus and shop). We also visited the tech museum that was ok but not spectacular and had lunch in Palo Alto.

I would like to clarify a few things for people looking at this tour so you are aware of what you are signing up for. I am not much of a camper, but with a guided camping tour, I did expect something else.
The camp site is in an RV parking lot alongside a road about 15 minutes outside of Yosemite. It is not pretty or natural. There are working restrooms. The showers did not work when we were there. There was no hot water to wash the dishes we used to prepare raw chicken for the tacos.
You set up your own tents, etc, and cook your own meals, and clean up after you cook. You set up camp.
Our guide did drive, and she did a nice job getting us to good points in Yosemite, although I think she was very new at the tour guiding business.
What I think their website should clarify, is that our guide expected a 15-25% gratuity per person on the price of the tour. And she was very open about it. In addition to the bus having a sign we saw every time we were in it, she asked for the tip when we were about 20 minutes from drop-off. She even let us know there was an ATM in the hotel where we were being dropped off.
It really rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not sure if she is to blame, there really is no good way to ask for a tip, but if the guide is relying on the tip for this job to have a livable wage, the company should build that in, instead of low-balling the price and putting their guides and guests in that position at the end of the trip.
The other campers on our trip were wonderful. We did enjoy getting to know them.

Definitely a very incredible adventure with Chris! The trip to Yosemite would not be the same without him - very informative, he shared a lot of knowledge with us throughout the ride from SF to Yosemite. We learnt a lot about Yomesite as well! Chris was real and fun and he made all of us feel inclusive (we had young, old, Asians, Europeans) like we are all friends. We covered all the main sites in Yosemite which is breathtaking! Chris gave us advice on how we can plan our day are Yosemite based on our interest and "fitness" level as well which was been helpful! Overall, a very enthusiastic guide and an unforgettable 2 days at Yosemite!

If you have a spare two days in San Francisco, do this tour. Brian our guide knew so much about Yosemite because he used to work for the park (his dad was even the park's federal judge). He structured the trip really well and kept surprising us with secret spots. In our free time, I had just enough time to hike the Mist Trail up to the top of Nevada Falls and was overwhelmed by the beauty of the granite formations and the waterfalls. It was as though nature got her chisel out and made giant abstract statues in the earth. It is a serious hike though: some of it is very steep. Thanks to Brian we also got to gaze at the stars on a moonless night; use a telescope and GoPro to spy on climbers scaling El Capitan (these guys are climbing for five days); walk beneath some of the earth's largest trees in the grove of giant sequoias; and see the entire park in 360° from Glacier point and Sentinel Dome.

I’m sure the trip is wonderful but unfortunately after confirming the trip in advance and a change of pickup point and time from 0600 to 0635. I woke up on the morning of the trip with an email from another tour company giving me my ticket. The pickup location had again changed and the time brought forward. I had no chance to get to the pick up point and no idea why I was hearing from some other company. Finally found out my tour was cancelled and I had been ‘helpfully’ placed on the same tour with another company. Long story short. I didn’t get to go to Yosemite. I lost a day of my holiday because it was my second to last day and I had seen everything else. I had to spend more money as I had to find things to do and all I will get is a refund of the original cost in up to 15 days. Not great.

I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. We make every effort to reach our customers in regards to changes in times and pickup locations. If we were not able to operate the tour, we hoped that you would not miss out by going with our partner company.

My girl friends & I joined the recent June 1st departure. We had the BEST time. Our tour guide, Nichole, gave us the trip of a lifetime. My friends & I are all avid travelers who are familiar with small group adventures: Incredible Adventures (3-Day Yosemite Trip) stood out above and beyond anything else we have joined. From the beginning, Incredible Adventures had strong, pleasant communication with trip reminders and answering questions via email. Upon departure, the trip was extremely well planned, FUN, flexible, and exceeded our expectations. Nicole drove a large, luxurious van and trailer on mountain roads with expertise and safety. She took us to beautiful spots and guided walking tours where we explored the sites and nature. She managed various personalities/requests with ease and a never-failing positive approach. What a pro! On Day 1, Nicole familiarized us with Yosemite's layout through maps and a walking introduction. She was a wealth of information on Yosemite's history and current news. She also took us to cool scenic lookout points for a sunset pizza dinner - it was such an insider's look at Yosemite! Other friends who have visited Yosemite didn't even visit the places we enjoyed with Nicole. The scenic campsite used by Incredible Adventures was clean and organized with great amenities like hot showers, toilets, and even a nearby jacuzzi, pool, and hotel/restaurant. It was 'camping light' and fit the various needs of our group. The food provided was abundant with almost every kind of tasty camping food you can imagine. The tents were spacious and perfect. The campsite was a quick 20 minute drive to the park. Nicole made sure to get us inside Yosemite Park first thing in the morning... to beat all the crowds and large day tour groups from San Francisco. We could really appreciate this, especially when we re-visited some busy sites in the early evening that were empty that morning. There were too many cool moments (ans magical vistas!) to list here, but suffice to say - we are already excited to book our next trip. We could just sit back, relax, and soak in the experience without having to worry about driving, equipment, logistics, etc. This tour offers fantastic value-for-money and a quality Yosemite experience. Thank you to Incredible Adventures & Nicole!
