It was raining really hard and I popped into Metreon for a little deprive. There were plenty of places to grab something to eat & lots of tables & chairs.

My friends and I often eat at the Metreon's food court when we're downtown, as there are so many choices and it's never as crowded as the Westfield. Definitely make sure that you look at the restaurants both inside and outside, as there are a plethora of options from cafeteria-style to sit-down restaurants.

Good movie theater, passable places to eat, and a book store, but there is always a risk of crime there as has been proven over the years.

We decided to catch the Magnificent 7 staring Denzel Washington and a few others. The movie theater was huge, we went on a Wednesday so we had any choice of seats we wanted. My only surprise was that the leg room between the row in front was quite short so you couldn't stretch your legs out. We are short people... More

Next to it is the Yerba Buena Gardens. A number of restaurants and shops are either inside or outside of the Metreon. AMC Metreon 16 movie theatre is on the upper level. A Target store with Starbucks in the lobby opened up recently. There is a Whole Foods Market nearby. Lots of options to eat and shop.

I was here for the HTML5 conf and it was a good place to have a conference. The Meteron itself has lots of shopping, food, and a movie theater to keep you entertained while there. It is also right next to the Yerba Buena Gardens which is very nice. There is a lot to do close by so defiantly check... More

The Metreon is once again and interesting, functional place to go. A nice movie theater, plenty of little dining establishments, and there's even a Target store. The crowd can be interesting and fun to watch too.

I was attending a conference across the street at the Marriott and there was a cocktail party at Metreon. The entrance was hard to find and once we arrived the event which was held in an open space in the 4th floor was equally difficult to figure out. The overall place appeared clean but more signage would improve it.

I stopped at Metreon for some lunch. The food court is decent enough but far smaller than the nearby one in the Westfield centre. I had korean noodle soup which was good and the seating area was nice and airy/bright looking onto Yerba Buena gardens. There's not a huge amount in this building - just food, imax cinema and a... Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
