Visitors to San Francisco centre, particularly Tenderloin, should be aware that their visit is likely to be spoilt by the widespread and very unpleasant smell of urine. The city has a huge homeless population spread everywhere and it is very difficult to avoid the very unpleasant urine and smell throughout the city centre. The city and the Bay Area is... More

Hi guys, San Fco bay is a dream. Strolling down its streets in good company has been the best holiday ever. It is still enjoyable if its foggy. Beware of the wind, and I'm gonna quote Mark Twain on this one "my coldest winter was San Fco's summer" ;)

So much of the SF bay is filled with history that a boat tour is really a wonderful thing. From Alcatraz to the Golden Gate and then past, you can get a sense of the wildness of this place.

Best way to view SF from the bay and see surrounding bay sites; chilly, so bring warmth. Don't do it on a foggy day, but most fog is gone by afternoon.

So much to see. You can do the walking trails along SF or Marin side, and/or take a Bay Cruise. Pick one that goes out under the Golden Gate Bridge, goes by Alcatraz, and goes under the Bay Bridge. Be sure to have your camera ready!

Enjoyable feel good chilled atmosphere despite it being a busy and popular area. Loved the harbour, the boats and the various artists performing in the area!

Don't be discouraged by 'fog'...you may find that over the next hour the fog will lift and views of the Bay, Alcatraz, and GG bridge itself will blow you away.

San Francisco Bay is gorgeous. The best way to see it is to be on it. My favorite is on a fishing boat. The boat leaves just as the sun is rising over the Oakland hills and the lights of SF are twinkling off. On the way out, the boat goes under the GG Bridge and between the shores of... More
