I'm not a modern arts enthusiast and don't know any of the artists' work on display. I just go for fun hoping to see something jaw-dropping as I turn the corner. The museum was "standard". Mostly paintings/pictures and a small number of sculptures/objects on the...More

Considerable variety including special exhibits. Interesting building design - - the only thing odd to us was that the entrance to the exhibit space is on the second floor and it was not immediately apparent when we entered the building as to where we should...More

WELL done SFMOMA. I’m not a fan of Modern Art but I was impressed by the sheer variety of art, the spacious 7 floor layout, the interactive nature of several pieces, and the number of masterpieces of the genre. I really enjoyed the Warhol, Matisse,...More

The SFMOMA is easy to navigate with interesting exhibits and surprises in each gallery. We found the audio tours ( free downloads on apple IOS or very inexpensive rental) really added a lot to our enjoyment.

Very good collection, 7 floors divided by style, there is something for everybody and the video session about black history on 7th floor is truly something. Strongly suggest!

Extensive collection of good modern art over seven floors. Although the $25 entrance fee may seem high there is so much art here we easily spent four hours making it decent value.

I went there on a rainy Tuesday morning. There were people touring, but not packed at all. It was easy to get in and through all of the exhibits. We took the elevator to the top floor and worked our way down via the stairwells....More
