Fun Place to Go Ice Skating

Close to the Metreon and the Moscone Convention Center, Yerba Buena Ice Skating Center is a fun place to go ice skating indoors when in San Francisco. I have enjoyed the center.

Fabulous ice rink, with a beautiful glass panel allowing loads of natural light, in a great location. Their schedule is excellent too. On the other hand, out of the 4 times I have been there so far, on 3 occasions, Dealing with 3 different cashiers, I thought the customer service was absolutely DREADFUL. On 1 specific occasion, on a 3... More

In an effort to find late night entertainment we headed to the Yerba Buena Bowling Center. It turns out it was disco bowling night which really means let's increase our prices to almost double what normal day time bowling costs. For the money we paid I didn't feel like we got enough. The disco bowling includes lights and music videos.... More

I love this ice rink! It's beautiful, full of light, and very friendly people. The ice is always amazing and for the first time I attended the coffee club session for 18 and over in the am. They had free donuts, coffee and a free group lesson to whomever wanted to participate. Of course I did. I always look forward... More

Yerba Buena center is the perfect place to spend a day with kids! There's an ice skating rink, bowling alley, creativity museum, enclosed carousel, outdoor cafe and fabulous play area. It's got more than enough to do in a day, or a weekend, and is clean and well maintained. Lots of fun for kids and grown-ups alike!

I went skating at Yerba Buena with my co-workers last December. The rink is sizeable and the skates are standard. We made sure to go mid-afternoon so the space wasn't crowded and we were free to stumble our way across the ice. The staff seemed bored but helped us when needed. If you're looking for standard, no-frills ice skating then... More

While strolling through the Verba Buena Gardens park, my grandson and I ran across this ice skating arena. He asked to go skating so checked it out. We were there at open skating time. Admission was $10 and skate rental $3. What a bargain. The area was well managed, clean and very reasonable.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
