The Russian Hill area is full of steep hills, Lombard Street and two cable car routes (need those with the hills). I climbed up the street that take you to the top of Lombard and along the steep road I noticed nice houses and apartments...More

Russian Hill is an intimate area nestled among San Francisco's highest hills and crookedest streets (Lombard Street is really winding!). If you support a company on a tour of bars, wine bars are guaranteed. This charming neighborhood is reminiscent of the former San Francisco. Instead...More

Pretty houses in an upscale neighborhood. Lots of hills that make for really good views. Lombard Street is located here.

Really interesting place where the road is going like an S-shaped form from the top to the bottom. Looks really cool when the car drives here.

One of San Francisco's loveliest neighborhoods. Probably the intended site of "Tales of the City." Kind of hard to explore since the hills are so steep, but just lovely.

This is RUSSIAN hill... but... I saw Russians only "walking around" -- they were walking around... OK, so there was a store or two with some Russian-like indications... so, maybe this is where Russian influence is/was... However, do not expect to see Russian Hill to...More

My sons have lived in the Russian Hill neighborhood for several years and neither one of them realized that Russian Hill actually has a summit with a lovely tiny park at its crest. It is off the beaten track even though its only a few...More

In between downtown and piers, this nice and clean neighborhood has some nice views over the bay from its top. It’s mainly residential, so there is not too many venues like restaurants or cafes. Tram passes by by climbing steep hill.

Of all the hills in San Francisco, I wasn't absolutely Blown Away by Russian Hill. There's a tennis court on top of a reservoir. And the Russian Hill open space is really kind of ugly.

Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential
neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner.
Combined with several great cafes, restaurants,
antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any
visitor would gladly leave their heart in San
Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down
Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world,
and make the slow creep downhill past charming period
