We threw an engagement party at Stow Lake Boathouse, and I cannot recommend it enough. Obviously the location, Stow Lake, is fabulous. But, the staff and service at the boathouse were amazing. We were looking for a venue that wouldn't be cost-prohibitive, but would offer lots to do. The staff were kind enough to offer our guests a discount on... More

We visited Stow Lake (family of four; kids ages 8 and 12) on a Monday in June. It was very peaceful. We brought a picnic lunch and enjoyed it at the boathouse area. After eating, we rented a paddle boat and enjoyed the ducks, seagulls and turtles as we explored the lake. The bridge is very pretty. A nice relaxing... More

Stow Lake offers lots of trails, including paved paths along the road around the lake, fire roads on the island off the road, or smaller trails that wind up to the top of the mid-lake island. Plenty of walkers and runners make this a safe bet for singles as well as couples, at least in the morning hours. The plant... More

Not only can you relax near this lake, you can also enjoy a boat ride in it! It is a pretty big lake with a man-made waterfall at some point along your boat trip. Another great thing is you don't have to do the ride to enjoy the views of the lake; you can also hike along it.

It's a nice lake in the middle of an amazing and really large open public space Families were enjoying the weekend I wouldn't rate it as high as areas such as the Japanese gardens etc, but still nice

We heard that it was upgraded and wanted to go for a boat ride. We did not see any electric boats. Just paddle and row boats, so we just walked around the lake. You can cross the bridge and walk all over the island in the center of the lake. There were many ducks, geese and turtles. It is so... More

Stow Lake is a urban body of water surrounded by one of the great parks in the United States. There are row boats and paddle boats to rent, and lots of trails around the outside. There is a boathouse and place for refreshments including beer and wine. This is a good place to relax in the middle of one of... More

Easy to find and a great peaceful place to spend some time. We rented a rowboat for about an hour and really enjoyed our trip around the lake. A bit of boat traffic but folks were polite and respectful of our space. not too expensive even thou in the middle of the park. I would suggest going on a week... More

I've come here with family, with old and new friends, and by myself, and I always enjoy it, always feel calm, always enjoy the beauty, and am always grateful to be there. I hope you enjoy it too. I feel so lucky to live nearby!
