Beautiful scene, amazing place. A must do of you go to San Francisco. You can go there riding the bus or renting a bike. It's very convenient. Very windy and don't forget to bring a sweater even if it's Summer.

When we arrived in San Francisco we did a drive over the bridge before returning our rental car, however the next day we rented bikes and bikes over the bridge around to Sausalito. Certainly something to be recommended. Biking over the bridge is great because...More

The first time I saw the Golden Gate Bridge I marveled at the brilliant Orange color !!! I was expecting a "Golden" color but International Orange is the perfect color backdrop to the fiery orange sunsets in San Francisco.

Bring a coat because the weather may be comfortable -- and even hot -- in Marin or in the City, but on the bridge it can be surprisingly cold and windy. The views are gorgeous and expansive. Plan to take lots of pictures with Alcatraz...More

If you are visiting San Francisco, you just have to walk (or bike) across the Golden Gate Bridge. It may be freezing cold or sunny and beautiful, but most likely cold and foggy. Still, it's impressive and on the 'must do' list. I've taken friends...More

We rented bikes at the golden gate park, and did the really nice (hard sometimes) trip to the bridge. To be there on the bridge was great, but really cols as well. Only it was the second day that the bridge was half in the...More

The city by the bay, ahhh yes, the bay is so beautiful in color and all the land / mountains and Islands that border this body of water. There are two main bridges . The New Bay bridge that connects San Francisco to the east...More

It's generally cold and windy. Basically a walk to nowhere. Just look at the bridge from crissy field. Save yourself the parking hassle.

We rented bikes and ride from the Castro District down to Goldengate Park then on to the bridge itself... 18 miles in all... We rode across the bridge... Views were spectacular, a bit windy.... But it's San Francisco... The bridge is a must see... Really...More

It makes for nice photos, but it was really windy and noisy (close to rush hour) so we only walked about half-way starting from San Francisco. After all, it is a vehicle bridge so don't expect a park-like experience. Hint if you are visiting the...More

Personally I would do a Hop on Hop off double decker bus tour (Grey Line) and take the tour of the city which includes a stop at the bridge. Busses run about every half hour so you'll have flexibility to walk around. You... More

No you won't have any time to leave the airport and see it. Normally the approach for landings is from the east so you also won't be able to see it from there. However, if you're lucky you might be able to catch a glimpse... More
