Looking for a Sports Bar
Nov 2015 • Couples
Located in the Lower Haight in San Francisco yet walkable from Hayes St. It's Definitely a locals hang out, which I enjoy, plenty of televisions for the sports fanatics and a full bar and a variety of beers on tap.
On a Saturday evening at 6:30 pm it was standing room only and a room filled with friends meeting friends.
We particularly enjoyed the salmon tacos and the chipotle chicken sandwich. Check it out... Haight and Filmore Streets it you are looking for a neighborhood friendly bar.

Great afternoon here on our touristy visit! Good food & beer
Apr 2013 • Couples
My husband and I spotted this place from the street on our weekend trip to San Francisco for our 1st anniversary. We wanted lunch and a beer after a long day of walking, and we had such a great time here and ended up staying for more than two hours. We went on a Friday and there was a $5 burger special.... awesome burger for an awesome price. Our waitress was fantastic, and when we told her it was our 1st anniversary she gave us two souvenir pint glasses with the name of the bar on them, which was so nice and unexpected. It's a great place to watch a game because they have nice TVs everywhere, and we really loved the vibe and the outstanding service. I wish we had a bar like this in our neighborhood! Good beer selection, and if the rest of the food on the menu is as good as the burgers we had, you can't go wrong.

Broncos bar in san fran good food great bartenders
Jan 2013 • Couples
Had a blast with other patrons and bartenders. The prices on beer were great too. The food is better than bar food. If you are a Denver Broncos fan and go to San Francisco when there is a game on TV - you have to go. You will not be alone. Go anyway. They treat you like a local. Good atmosphere, prices and food!

Great food, so why are the waitresses so angry?
Sep 2011
We were visiting from out of town and meeting up with friends who live in the area Saturday around 8 pm. Busy, and we actually gave up a table we staked out to a group of girls who wanted "extra room"...no problem we sat at the bar until another opened up.

We ended up getting a table after placing our order with the bartender, who had no problem setting us up at a table (even cleaned it off)...nice guy.

My friends thought the place seemed familiar, and as soon as one of the waitresses ignored their request to get a drink (they waited SO LONG they just went up to the bar themselves) they remembered it - - "This is the place where the waitresses are angry"...WOW - what a thing to be known for.

However - The bartender was AWESOME. He really did a great job, apparently he is eating the food at Nickies - Because we also thought they had great food.

We ended up getting: Curry Chicken Soup, Wings, A Hamburger, Mozzarella Sticks, Chef Salad, and a LATE arriving Side of Fries (which ticked off the waitress even more that we actually didn't get something...not our fault little lady). When she dropped the ketchup, I thought she was going to lose it. Obviously it wasn't our fault, but man-of-man you could just tell FRUSTRATION was all around with these gals.

My recommendation would be to feed the waitresses before they start their shift, I don't see how anyone could be upset after that delightful bar food.
