We are happy to take you mountain bike riding, no matter what your skill level. From beginner to expert riders, we will customize your ride to your skill level. Our tour destinations include Marin County, Half Moon Bay, Pacifica and Santa Cruz. For multi-day trips we go to Downieville and Lake Tahoe. Pick-up service available, within San Francisco. Beginner riders will be able to get out and experience mountain biking in a comfortable environment, while checking out amazing views, complimented by trails that match to your skill level. Perfect for those who want to get some fresh air, see the Bay Area from a different perspective and exercise within their comfort zone. Intermediate mountain bikers will explore changing landscapes with a combination of fire roads and flowing single track with mild climbs. Expert riders will enjoy plenty of steep descents, flowing trails, epic views and long descents. Expect an exhilarating ride! Mountain Bike Tour Rates: half-day tour $200.00 Transportation, hydration, and power food is included. Estimated time is 3-4 hours. full-day tour $300.00 Transportation, hydration, and power food is included, as well as a light lunch and a beverage. Mountain Bike Lessons We teach mountain biking skills and techniques in a fun and casual environment. From the basics, including how to mount and dismount your bike, how to balance your body while riding, how to go uphill and downhill to more advance techniques including pedaling, braking, gearing/shifting, climbing and descending, switchbacks, to expert techniques for riders wanting to learn how to launch, drop and jump, we have the perfect lesson for your skill level. We also cover trail etiquette and basic bike fit and maintenance. Mountain Bike Lesson Rates: $250.00 Half day lesson, per person. Last year my boyfriend and I were out visiting San Francisco area and really wanted to see the breathtaking views of the pacific as well as Muir Woods. After doing some research we came across NorCal Flow and decided to call to find out more. Marcel answered the phone right away and talked us through everything from who we are, are experience level and what we were looking for. By the end of the call we were super stoked and comfortable with the experience Marcel was going to put together for us.
Fast forward a few weeks and Marcel was picking us up from our hotel on time and he had EVERYTHING! From the bikes, to water, to fuel and snacks for the ride, everything to get the bikes fitted to our liking, water bottles you name it! He clearly has done this a time or two. He even brought along a tow rope, which I was totally thankful for!
The experience far exceeded our expectations! The trails he took us on were incredible an the views were a total added bonus! After 24 miles and about 4000ft of climbing (don’t be alarmed we asked for it specifically as we were very experienced riders) we had the BIGGEST smiles on our faces!!!
Marcel made the entire experience from the first phone call to the last good bye the best experience we have ever had. He was extremely friendly, laid back and tailored EVERYTHING to what we needed and wanted. He was all for stopping to take pictures and finding the perfect shot for us too. Truly a delight.
Needless to say, my boyfriend and I just finished up booking another trip out to San Francisco and booked Marcel and NorCal Flow for another amazing tour experience! Highly recommend giving them a call!

This was the holiday of a lifetime that we had with Marcel and the team!
We were newbie MTB riders from Sydney, and Marcel took me and my 11 year old son on four fantastic days riding around the San Francisco region in April. We were picked up from our hotel each morning and Marcel took us to a different area to discover: Muir Woods, Pacfica, Santa Cruz...awesome trails and great conditions.
The bikes were amazing, my son had a top of the range Santa Cruz Juliana and I had a nearly new ebike, Specialized dually.
Marcel is a very kind and considerate guide, conscious of the levels and experience of those riding with him. He is passionate about what he does and it was an abolsute pleasure spending time with him. I hope we can come back soon!
If you are consdering riding with Norcal , dont hesitate- I couldnt recommend this experience more!

Had a super nice ride on scenic single tracks with Chris. Chris is great company and very capable. I was picked up at my hotel and the bike was top end. All the other materials were included ( kneepads, helmet). Such a nice break from downtown SF. Highly recommended trip and company!

I just had a great ride with Marcel and Sandy from Norcal Flow MTb Tours. I've ridden with guides all around the world, and tths one day excursion into Marin County was a 10 out of ten. They picked me up at my hotel in downtown San Francisco with a great dual suspension Santa Cruz bike, already set up for my height and weight, and we were at the trailhead in Marin 45 minutes later. We had discussed possible trails on the phone the day before, and based on my preferences Norcal Flow came up with something that was exactly what I was looking for in terms of time, distance, climbing, and technical level. Just perfect. Highly recommend this crew if you're in the Bay Area without your own wheels and are looking for a great ride with knowledgeable, friendly people who are committed to great times and happy clients.

In early 2020, I was looking to start mountain biking as a hobby, but I had no idea where to begin. There are some hobbies like mountain biking where you really need someone to hold your hand and guide you while you're a beginner. Marcel and Norcal Flow MTB Tours provided the exact help I needed to overcome the difficulties of not knowing anything and made it really easy to start having fun quickly.
I did 3 tours with Marcel over a few weeks, which helped me accomplish a number of things. First, I learned riding technique to keep me safe while having a good time on the trails. Second, I got introduced to local riding spots, and learned how to plan a ride appropriate for my skill level. And finally, Marcel helped me figured out all the gear needed to pursue mountain biking regularly including helping me navigate the decision of which bike to purchase. That's the awesome thing about doing tours with company that's also a bike shop; you have access to renting a range of bikes so you can actually try them on the trail and figure out what works for you. This was a lot more useful for me than just sitting on bikes in the showroom, or riding them up and down the city block.
Since Marcel helped me find my way into the sport, I've become an avid rider making it out to the trails almost every weekend. The sport has become a passion of mine that I'm very thankful to have as the pandemic has dragged on.
Marcel's tours aren't just for beginners, though. As my riding progressed over '20 and '21, I was looking for a new challenge, and I booked a tour with Marcel to ride in Downieville last November. It was an incredible 2 days of riding the best and most challenging trail I've ever been on since I got started.
I'm looking forward to the next adventure with Norcal Flow, and I couldn't recommend you booking a tour with Marcel more.

My wife scheduled a surprise tour for me with High trails Cyclery as a Christmas present this year, and WOW what a fantastic experience! Marcel & Sandy were super fun to ride with as we did several of the downhill trails in Santa Cruz that were absolutely amazing. This was my first time riding in SC and it was great to be able to follow them both down the mountain. We did some things that I would've never dreamt of doing if I was riding alone. It was an absolutely fantastic experience and has definitely helped me grow and improve my skills as a rider. I would highly recommend booking a tour with them as soon as you can - you won't regret it one bit!

Can't recommend High Trails enough. Marcel arrived on time, in a great vehicle. We went to Camp Tamarancho, as I was only able to do a half day.
I was on a Santa Cruz Bronson.

I’ve done many mountain bike tours in the U.S. and internationally and my day riding with Marcel exceeded my expectations! Communication beforehand was timely, he picked me up right on time at pre-arraigned location in a comfortable vehicle. When we got to the trailhead he made sure I had all gear needed, snacks & water, and took careful attention to setting up the very nice bike he’d selected based on my experience, what I ride at home & trails for the day. The trails were AMAZING and Marcel picked a route that was a great balance of challenging and fun! He is clearly passionate about not just riding but ensuring his customers have a special experience. My friends can’t believe some of the great pictures from this outing and I’m definitely hoping to do this again:)

I booked a tour with at High Trails Cyclery with Marcel as my guide. We exchanged a few mails and Marcel knew quickly where and what I wanted to ride. We went to Tammarango for riding great single track. The bikes rented out are high end bikes like Santa Cruz and Ibis. I got a fantastic Santa Cruz Hightower LT. Marcel set the bike up to my length and weight and I was ready to go. Crazy good riding here. Marcel takes very good care during riding, gives advise, looks out for some cool photo opportunities and leads the way for some unexpected rock jumping! Next time when I travel again to SF I would definitely book here again a day, absolutely good fun for hardcore riding
