Went online and hired bikes an hour before they opened as they were the earliest to open in the morning and had a discount doing online. When we arrived at the shop we were quickly provided with bikes, helmets, lock and a map. Off we went for the day, cycling over Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, back on the ferry, along the wharf and around the presidio before returning. Was. Great price and way to see the area.

The bikes were great and came with a map, a lock, and a pouch to put stuff in. The lasy working there said they sanitize the bike after every trip. They have plenty of bikes so I am sure they have the time for it. The entrance to the golden gate Bridge is about 20 minutes away on the bike. We enjoyed the ride to the bridge and made stops on the way to get pictures with the bridge in the background.

Brilliant location in the marina area close to our motel. We booked online which was very easy, the recommended route and route map was great and we took the ferry crossing back from Sausalito. Staff were friendly and helpful - would definitely recommend.

We rented a tandem. The process was smooth and quick, the bike was quite good, light and 27 gears for hill climbing. Everything was going well until we got a flat at the southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge as we starting our trip across. A call to the shop was not very helpful-basically, "you're on your own". No apology for being unable to offer any sort of assistance beyond recommendations for bike repair shops. After returning to the shop, we were told that we would not be reimbursed for the cost of the repair since we hadn't purchased insurance. Insurance should apply only to accidents, negligence, etc., not routine problems such as a flat tire. Overall, customer service could have been a bit more gracious but the bike itself was quite good and the location very convenient.

I was travelling alone for this one. I rented a bike and went cycling off on my own over the Golden Gate Bridge to the other side. There was an easy to follow bike path. Note that there is not just one route, but I'm sure most routes will lead you to the same place. Just keep the Bridge in view and head that direction - you'll get there, basically what I did.
I definitely recommend giving Sausalito a visit on the other side of the Bridge. Amazing, quite little town and then you also have to go see the houseboats! Wow! Just ask at tourist information in the town to guide you to the houseboat area. You won't regret it I promise!
I will definitely do this activity again when I visit SF next time!

I rented a hybrid bike online for 1 day. Store opened at 9 AM and I got my bike in minutes. Good quality, really nice staff. Best place in town, if you want to bike the Golden Gate Bridge, bc the store is rather close and there‘s only 1 hill to climb. Palace of Fine Arts and Chesnut St. with tons of cafes and restaurants is really close.

Best places for the bridge: Fort Point (South) in the morning - see my photo - and Marine Headlands (North) in the afternoon/evening.

The bike worked perfectly, good brakes and easy to handle.

I was really happy to enjoy a great day with Golden Gate Bike.

My wife and I recently visited this bike rental place so we could cycle across the Golden Gate Bridge and explore a lot of San Francisco. We received a very friendly and helpful welcome and decided to book online to save a few $$. The booking system was easy and the day rate was affordable. I was a little disappointed in the quality of bikes but this IS a rental and certainly beats walking. The bike I was riding actually broke just after I made a return trip across the bridge. My wife got on the phone to the Rental staff and they were more than happy to come out to deliver a new rental bike at no extra charge....disclaimer....we did pay the additional $4 damage waiver BEFORE we took the bikes from the shop. This incredible customer service helped us complete our cycle tour and allowed us to see almost the entire city in a day. I highly recommend this place, especially being so close to the bridge.

We were pleased with our experience with Golden Gate Bridge Bike Rental. We showed up a half-hour before our appointment time and were able to get bikes for myself, my wife, and grandson immediately. The staff gave us a clear explanation of the route to take, including the ferry back to San Francisco from Sausalito. The bikes were in great shape and worked well for us. Note that all of the seats on the city touring bikes were somewhat narrow and hard, so do not expect a wide, plush seat. Rental included helmets, locks, a case for holding small items, and a very useful map.

A couple of tips for people who want to bike across the the bridge and take the ferry back. First, your starting point is going to be irrelevant because you will be biking back to the bike rental. We chose this rental place partly because it seemed closest to the bridge. However, that meant a somewhat longer bike ride from Pier 41 where the ferry dropped us back to the rental shop, compared to other shops closer to the piers. Fortunately, Golden Gate Bridge Bike Rental assured us that we would have sufficient time to get back to the bike rental if we took the last ferry back, and that they would stay open until 7:00 if necessary (way past their usual 6:30 closing time) to receive our bikes. True to their word, we found them waiting for us at 6:55 when we returned.

Another tip is to make sure you get in line early for the last ferry. We saw people lining up an hour before departure, but thought nothing of this, so we casually sat around eating our take-out fish and chips, joining the line minutes before it began to move. When it was our turn to board the ferry, the staff announced that we were the last three persons that could be taken because they were out of room for bike. Goodness knows what the two dozen people behind us did, how we would have returned to SF (we were too tired to bike back over the bridge), or how we would have returned the bikes (because the rental shop would have been closed and we were flying out of SF at 5:40 AM the next day). Repeat: get in line with your bike early!

We enjoyed many activities during our week in SF, and this one was definitely a highlight.

My husband and I rented bikes from here as a last minuet idea. We were able to book the bikes the night before, the website was very easy to use and really quick. When we got there our bikes were all ready and waiting for us outside. In the little bags attached onto the bikes we had a bike lock which came in very handy. The staff here were very helpful and even though they were busy anticipated what we would need and what we would ask. They told us about some excellent routes as well as the laws (we are from the UK so not very familiar with US biking laws).
We went for the comfortable bike option, which was a good bike for going over the Golden Gate Bridge. When we got back to the shop once again the staff were quick to greet us, to check over the bike and thanked us for using their company. I really liked how quick they were and how organised the workers were. I would absolutely recommend and use again.
