Be warned, it'll be busy here! Saying that, the sea lions are worth the hassle of the crowds. The kids loved them! Plenty to do, albeit pricey.

It’s all a bit hectic and kitsch but it’s worth a visit for the sea lions, who are always cool and the views of the bay.

Apart from the views, the sealions and the odd high class place to eat, this is an abomination of a place and should be avoided unless you have the IQ of, or are actually 9 years old. It really is a load of old rubbish...More

Great experience for adults and kids. Moving pathway takes you through a tunnel of sea creatures. Surrounded by water, get up close peeks of sharks, fish, stingray etc. Some interactive displays and hands on feel of some species.

While Pier 39 is a fun place early in the day during the week. It’s terrible on the weekend. So many people makes it hard to enjoy anything. Plan to spend a lot of time waiting in lines for everything including the bathroom. Speaking of...More

Pier 39 had one of the prettiest, coolest carousel's in the States. Go give it a ride and have your friend take photos of you riding it.

The seals are sooooo cute!!! It's free to see them! Spent a good 30 minutes watching them bask in the sun, squeal, and push each other off the decking. It was like watching UFC but for seals.

You can just visit the pier, no booking a trip is required. Alcatraz requires reservations.
