There are a lot of shops and restaurants walking distance. You can easily see Alcatraz just across the bay from this location. We... More

Like so many other attractions in SF this is a must when visiting the City. The locals welcome you with open arms and are willing to help in any way they can - plenty of restaurants and nik nak shops

Pier 39 has a multitudes of shops, restaurants and entertainment. It has become the focal point on the San Francisco wharfside. It surpasses the older Fisherman's Wharf.

Pier 39 is fun to walk around. Just like everything in SF it's expensive. $40-50 just to park your car. If you're already staying (and paying parking), then ride the trolly or street car. I think I paid about $20 for fish/chips,,,,,

Touristy, but cool to see - lots of unique shops, restaurants and buskers here. Jammed with people, and great vibe.
