During my 13hr layover in San Fran I made my way to the Wharf area via the BART (super easy to navigate). I was shocked to see how long the boardwalk area us! Pier 39 was busy! There are a ton of restaurants & shops to peruse, candy stores, crab & fish restaurants with beautiful patios. The sea lions are... More

What can I say? Pier 39 is something you just have to experience on a trip to San Francisco. Don't park in the open air parking lot across from and in between Pier 39 and the Alcatraz Ferry terminal (pier 33). There's no security and about 8 cars were broken into the last night we were there including our rental... More

The most popular part of Fisherman's Wharf , there are many shops and restaurants, also entertainment for all ages including street entertainers. Also has an aquarium and other attractions. Depending on the time of year many sea lions home into the harbour. Be aware pier 39 begins to close down at 10pm.

My husband and I absolutely loved Pier 39. All the quaint shops and things you can see and buy there. There is even a carousel for the little ones to ride. There is even a awesome candy store near the carousel if you have a sweet tooth. Don't forget to check out all the stores on the second floor as... More

We enjoyed our time at Pier 39, especially seeing the sea lions, although there were not as many as I've seen in years past. We enjoyed several of the shops and had lunch at Bubba Gumps.

Busy place that has a lot of shops, restaurants, sea lions, etc. The main event near Fisherman's Wharf where it gets really, really packed. We easily spent the day here playing games at the arcade, watching street performers, eating, and shopping. It can get windy and then hit again so bring a jacket if you get cold easily. Be sure... This was the place to go during a busy holiday weekend! Something for everybody! For myself, just sitting on bench and people watch was pretty great! Shopping, restaurants, entertainment!

Pier 39, pier 39, pier 39 - it what everyone told us to do when visiting San Fransisco. Why? It's just a tacky pier with millions of shops and restaurants trying to part you with your money for tat you don't want or need. We ate on the pier and the seafood was good but no better than elsewhere. Overall... More
