A lot of Bling and lots of tourists. And the shops etc. are very much made for them. People who dig that will certainly enjoy it.

My daughter and I enjoyed Pier 39. The shops and sea lions were well worth the visit. There are a ton of shops and restaurants to walk through, and it is a beautiful area. There is no shortage of souvenir shops either. It was a very pleasant area to spend the afternoon.

Seals: I visited in the fall once and the seals were so fun and playful to watch. I didn't know but in the summer the seals all leave and migrate south so I was disappointed to find no seals on the pier. This September when I visited again they were thankfully back. Shops: there are many restaurants and shops. There... More

Lots of shops, some touristy junk, some treasures. The rafts for the sea lions and the sea lions are still present, as noisy and feisty as ever, although not as numerous as in past years.

Good place to stroll around the whole area. Sea lions watching is also a good experience. You can also enjoy the street seafood and they are very very good. Shops around the Bay Area are also something one can enjoy and do some shopping

We were lucky with the hot weather that had appeared at the end of September. The views from this area of Alcatraz and golden Gate Bridge in the distance. You can have whatever local food you want. The choices of restaurants are amazing. You can also get various ferry trips from there. Plenty of seating if you want to watch... More

This is a good walking area with lots of things to see and do. It is something that you should do during your visit and there is no cost.

We finished our day out at Pier 39, and didn't have a hard time at all finding parking about a block away. There were sea lions on sun bathing that they kids enjoyed and there was free entertainers performing in Pier 39. A fun place for snacks and knickknacks.
