Public tours of the Anchor Brewery are available each weekday, free of charge, by reservation only. The walking tour of the brewery lasts about 40-45 minutes. Your tour guide will give you a brief history of Anchor Brewing and walk you through three floors of our facility. Children are welcome to come on the tour, but of course may not taste the beer during our tasting session that follows the walking tour. You may have up to ten in your party, depending on the availability of space. Altogether, the tour and the tasting last for about 2 hours, and tastings are only available to those who take the tour.

We booked for the afternoon tour at 1 pm (do make a reservation - they sell out) and had a wonderful time. Our guide - Joey - had a great sense of humor, and, even better, a great speaking voice so everyone could hear what he had to say. We spent about 20 minutes hearing the history while in the... More

I love Anchor beers, and coming to their home for a tour as a wee detour on our honeymoon was amazing. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about beer and the history and operation of the brewery. The building is a great example of an Art Deco small industrial building of the 1920s or 30s with plenty of period features... More

A real highlight of our trip! The tour itself is about 25 minutes or so, very cool. Obviously, the highlight is the tasting portion. You get about five or six different Anchor brews, very generous. So much fun and a great addition to any San Fran itinerary.

Did the tour at Anchor Brewing Company. Guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Were not stingy with the beer tasting.

The tour was very interesting and the tour guide was very knowledgable. There were about 25-30 people on our tour and it was a little crowded at certain times during the tour. We would have preferred to have a smaller group but we stayed toward the front and was able to see everything fine. There are 6 tastings after the... More

Liberal with the tastings, awesome retro facility, great beer, knowledgable guide, and a unique brewing process. My fiancée and I do brewery/winery/distillery tours whenever we travel and this was one of the best! Worth every penny of $20 on the ticket.

As a large brewery worker I wanted to see the scaled version but not to the level of a small unfiltered craft brewery. Of course the process is the same but these guys n gals make some great tasting beers. True beer, all barley no adjuncts, and it is terrific. This company has a unique history any beer enthusiasts will... More

We did the Anchor Brewing Co. tour and were very pleased. We started with a toast then proceed in learning about the history as well as touring the brewery. It was all very interesting since Anchor Brewing was the original craft brewery. We tried a variety of beers and learned about their history and process. It would have been nice... More
