Beautiful library, only problem is they let the homeless hang out there during the day. They are either drunk or high.

The Thomas Crane library has a great modern portion, but the jewel of the library is the older section designed by H. H. Richardson. Built in a neoclassical style, the interior features tiers of bookshelves, polished wood details, and quiet nooks to read or study. It's really a beautiful building and a perfect place to get some quiet time in. The modern portion has a lot of books and media for checkout or reading, but in my opinion the architecture of the library is its best part.

The Library is connected with other towns to use library and passes. The library is large and has a nice quiet computer room. Staff is very educated and helpful.

Thomas Crane Public library has the most helpful, pleasant employees. They are quickly responsive to requests for book recommendations and research articles. I try to visit at least once or twice weekly. Also, they offer a great variety of presentations on fascinating topics. Great displays of local artist’s works.
