This tour was one of my favorites! Definitely well worth the money! I learned a lot about Bar Harbor, the history, and lobsters. If you visit Bar Harbor, this is a must!

We were worried that it would be stormy because we had to reschedule our tour from the day before, but the weather was great (a little cold but not rainy)! The driver and the guide explained about the lobstering industry. We learned many facts. We...More

It was a little cold taking this tour in October but totally worth it. They had blankets for our laps so it didn't seem as bad. Our tour guide (Galen) was awesome. He was so informative about the Lobster regulations and very entertaining at the...More

Advise against going out when the weather is poor. In better weather we evidently would have gone out to a lighthouse and seen some wildlife. We saw only a few birds and the three lobsters that came up in a trap. I was glad to...More

This was the most fun and informative excursion we have been on for a while. Learned a lot about the lobster business. A little chilly but they had extra blankets onboard.

We had an absolutely wonderful time on the Lu Lu Lobster Boat. We were a little concerned about how cold it might be in October, but honestly, we were so interested in what was going on that it was no bother, plus they offer blankets...More

They were very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Seeing they pull a trap and getting lobsters out for everyone to see.... as they brought them around to hold.

There are great views of Bar Harbor and surrounds from the boat. The narration is informative and seeing/holding a lobster was fun.

We enjoyed this tour. It is a few hours long and no toilets. Great tour guides. Got to see a female lobster with her eggs still attached.

Lulu Lobster Boat is there a better time to go in the day? (3 Replies)
Look for when the water would be the most calm and we could see the most wildlife. I know these may not be the same time. Thanks.

Itinerary Help (2 Replies)
Hi, we are planning a family trip to Bar Harbour/Acadia this summer. My spouse and I are traveling with our 2 kids (ages 1 and 4) and my parents. We would like to combine kid friendly "stroller hikes" with moderate hikes just for adults. Any help with the flow of our itinerary and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also, what is the most luxury place to stay in Bar Harbour? Thanks in advance. Day 1: Arrive in Bangor, Maine. Rent car and drive to Bar Harbour. Check in to hotel. Stay there...More

Sounds like a good plan. On day five you might also explore Southwest Harbor, Wonderland and Ship Harbor trails, and see Bass Harbor Light. Lunch or dinner at Thurston's Lobster Pound in Bernard would be good. All those things are on the other side of Mount Desert Island from Bar Harbor.
Great Lulu Lobster Boat Tour (8 Replies)
After a bit of research on which boat excursion I thought my family would enjoy, I chose a ride on Lulu and I'm so glad I did. Captain John seems passionate about the lobstering industry and its conservation as well as fellow lobstermen. He's very knowledgable and imparts this knowledge in a fun and captivating manner. He interacts so well with the children on board and I know my 9 & 13 yr old children left the boat with smiles on their faces. From the way John presents the information during...More

HI I have the same age kids and was thinking of the tour but afraid my almost 13 year old would be way too cool to enjoy it. He is a boy and the 8 year old is a girl. She tends to get car sick . How was the ride? Should I be concerned she will get sick?
