ImprovAcadia was an excellent night out. This is a small venue, which only adds to the experience as all the seats are great. Be prepared to meet some new people because you'll likely be sitting with others at shared tables ...again, only added to the entire experience. The comedians were incredibly quick and very funny, very impressive for such a small town. Highly recommended.

While visiting beautiful Bar Harbor and enjoying its natural beauty, we decided to have a change of pace one evening and go to InprovAcadia. We are fans of improvisational comedy and have attended many shows in various places including the Mecca of improvisation, Chicago. I have to say that I wasn’t expecting a lot but I was pleasantly surprised. The show was great and rivals any other improv we have seen. They have 2 shows a night with the early show being family friendly. We chose the early show and had a great time. It’s family friendly, but not a kid show. They offer drinks and snack foods but they don’t pressure you to buy them. If you want to visit a quality improv show give this place a visit, you’ll have a good time.

I live on MDI and am frugal. So the first time a friend urged me to go to this, well, it was a lot of money for me, but I love her and was willing to go if it was also all visiting. I was blown away. I have never laughed so much for so long. Since then have seen them repeatedly, brought other friends and family, gone to their late night Reel Pizza Movie night, and they are always even better than I can describe to people. In addition, in fact, they have volunteered repeatedly in support of my own personal life work which is working with Gay/Straight/Trans youth. They have done benefit shows for the MDI High School Gay Straight Diversity Alliance, and offered workshops at the Rainbow Ball Weekend (go to the OUT Maine website for more info on this- GSTA kids from all over Maine come to this every spring, it is huge), at considerable personal expense since they drove there and took time and trouble to do them. If you do only one fun thing you have to pay for during your Acadia vacation, this should be it!

We have been vacationing in Bar Harbor for many years now and ImprovAcadia has become a regular part of our visits. We normally take in several shows during our stay because each show is truly unique and special. Whether your spending a relaxing day in Bar Harbor or hiking the trails of Acadia, we believe there isn't a better way to spend your evening than taking in a show at ImprovAcadia. It is quality entertainment at a very affordable price. Check them out--you will not be disappointed!!!
