Sometimes its nice to just curl up with a good book, even on a visit to an outdoor wonderland. Jesup Memorial Library is a lovely old library, something that most people don't have the opportunity to see in our modern world. Beautiful woodwork, attentive and helpful librarians, a lovely reading parlor full of magazines, historical documents on display and armchairs,... More

It is a great sanctuary to stop in while walking around town. Built in the early 1900's....lots of history of the island. Beautiful wood work.

I took a buoy painting class here one summer Saturday morning. I think I was so excited and happy that I became the attraction myself! The staff made me feel like a local rather than a tourist. Stop by for a chat and make some friends!

A peaceful spot with a wide variety of literature, free wifi access, lots of comfortable places to sit and read. The nice large windows add natural light and illuminate the old style charm of the place. Will be glad to visit again.

This is a beautiful old library with lovely architectural details inside. The balcony looks over the main floor and the shelves are loaded. For a quiet respite from our visit, we stepped inside and were pleasantly surprised at a huge book sale in progress. The staff of the library were incredibly nice and helpful and cordially invited us to use... More

This is a very cute library. I went in here to ask for directions. They have books and magazines for sale for up to $1. I bought a few books to read on the rest of my vacation.

Colonial revival style, from 1911, this library is full of architectural details. Contains a variety of books for loan, as well as many for sale. Book signings are often held here, as well as guest lecturers. Stop bye, and poke your head in for a look-see, it won't take up too much time, but you may wish to stay longer,... More

An eclectic library that is more than just books. Guest lecturers and musical talent can be found on select evenings thru the year and it is worth finding the schedule.
