We were starving so pretty much willing to eat anything, but we did not finish our meal.

First thing we noticed, we ordered a beer and a diet soda. The soda was almost $3 and it was served in a tiny glass that was not filled entirely. There were no refills. The same with the beer. We asked and were told the glass was 12oz so I guess we had about 10oz of liquid in each.

Our Mac and cheese came out cold. We complained and it went back to be heated and came back warmer. The heating was inconsistent so I feel it was likely microwaved. It tasted a lot like box Mac and cheese which is to say flavorless. We told the waitress we weren’t going to eat it. She was very nice and did not charge us. Overall the service was pretty good.

Our other meal was a sausage burrito with sweet potato. The sweet potatoes were not fully cooked. We did not finish that either.

We asked why the beer was served in such small glasses as we had literally never seen that before. Our waitress did not know but since the 10oz. beer cost $6 I think it’s safe to assume that by pouring it into tiny glasses they make more money than if they served it in pints.

Overall the beer was good but I’ve pretty much had it with restaurants in tourist areas that serve bad food and try to rip people off just because they can. There are too many other great towns (and amazing breweries!) in Maine to be willing to put up with this.

My family arrived about 5:30 and got a flight after hurrying out of Acadia hoping to arrive before the tasting room closed at 6:00. As soon as he poured our beers, he asked if that was all we wanted because it would be last call. I didn't understand why he asked already until a family came in a minute later at about 5:40 and asked for a flight of beers. They were told that it was too late they had started closing down the taps already. With puzzled looks the couple asked why they wouldn't serve beer when the tasting room doesn't close till 6:00. The staff just gave an inconsiderate comment that they could buy some cans or go out to Mainely Meat's bar but it was too late for beer tastings. The family left without any beer. The staff immediately spent the next 5-10 minutes complaining that the couple was rude and made them mad to the point that it made her "blood boil". Staff was mad? The couple should be mad. Heck, I was mad and I had a beer. The family entered a business with a posted closing time, they were disappointed that they drove all the way there to get a beer tasting and wouldn't be served because the staff started cleaning the taps 20 minutes before the posted closing time, the staff was mad because the customer questioned why, and the staff proceeded to complain in front of another couple/customers and their kids. Worst customer service I have seen in a long time. Not what I expected from a small brewery/business. Might be a nice place but I won't be going back.

Excellent flight of tasty beers. Kristian was patient and helpful as we chose our samples, and they have a couple picnic tables out back where you can sit. Definitely stop in if you're at Mainely Meats, since the brewery has some beers on tap that aren't offered at the restaurant.

First time here. Food was ok. The flight of beer was good. I would not get the haddock again, as it had too much breading. The fries were decent, and the veggie burger was not very good. It fell apart easily, and just wasn’t represented well. The mussels dish was excellent and had wonderful flavor!! The chicken appetizer was also salty and a bit too overcooked really like crunchy chicken Nuggets. Salad was excellent and would get again

We visited their downtown location; small with limited outdoor seating but we gladly waited since we had two dogs. The servers were very attentive to them and brought them water bowls. We shared a bunch of apps and enjoyed them.

We stopped in for a beer downtown and sat upstairs on the deck. Sam was our waiter and he was absolutely wonderful even though he was very busy. He took his time and answered questions about the beers before we ordered. He made our day a little bit better after we left another bar without a drink.

We stopped in here for a light dinner and beer. The meal of mussels and frites was great as was the beet salad. Excellent beer. A real treat. Very friendly atmosphere with quick service and tourist tips from our super friendly waiter

While in Bar Harbor, we visited both the locations. The downtown location had the best fish and chips we have ever eaten—note, this is not your traditional beer battered fish and chips, but it was delicious. The suburban location was partnered with Mainely Meats, a southern-style pork barbeque joint. After two weeks in New England and more seafood than we’ve ever eaten (all yummy, but . . .) we were craving red meat. Mainely Meats did not disappoint! I had the pulled pork—moist and tender with a slight smokey flavor. Hubby had the combo plate and he loved everything, but particularly the pork ribs, which he said fell off the bone. OH. And let’s not forget the beer. Great selection and very good(our favorite was the Real Ale).

Good selection of beers brewed by Atlantic. The blueberry beer was pretty good and an interesting concept. Beers are $6.00 each, but it’s nice to stop in on a hot day.

I visited the Atlantic Brewing Company in July 2005 and found it to be a great experience. I went on the "tour" of the brewery which was short and consisted of standing between the brew kettles and bright tank in the brewery and getting a short talk about how the brewery was founded and how they brew the beer. It was worth doing, but was not as extensive as I had anticipated. The gentleman who gave the tour was very friendly and personable. After the tour we proceeded to the gift shop for tasting. Atlantic Brewing obviously takes great care and pride in what they brew because their beers are some of the best that I have ever tasted. Their signature beer, Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale, is exceptional. I was apprehensive about a blueberry beer at first, but it is one of the best brews I have tasted in a while. Their two best beers, though, are the Coal Porter and the Real Ale. I still can't decide which is my favorite, so I guess I'll have to keep sampling until I figure it out! All of their beers were excellent, even the Island Ginger, which I was not sure about going into the tasting. It's been a long time since I found a microbrewery where all of their beers are great. Usually I'll like one or two but there will be others that are horrible. They know what they are doing at Atlantic Brewing. (Hey, that should be their new slogan.) Even their Old Soaker Root Beer is tasty. They use real sugar instead of corn syrup which makes it very good. My kids loved the root beer. I bought a case of their beer to take home with me and I am savoring every drop. I did not get the chance to eat at their on-site restaruant, but boy did it smell good!!

If you like beer and you are in the Bar Harbor area, make it a point to stop into Atlantic Brewing!!
