About
Acadia Stand Up Paddle & E-Bike is Maine's premier SUP outfitter. We offer a wide variety of SUP programming for all ability levels and specialize in small group and private guided excursions as well as beginner to advanced level instruction. All programs are led by certified professional Registered Maine Guides/Instructors. SUP rentals are also available for transport a short distance, to the beautiful lakes of Mount Desert Island. We also offer guided e-bike tours of Acadia and class 1 e-bike rentals for use on the carriage roads or park loop road in the National Park. We have generous 24 hour cancellation policy and provide all gear and equipment including wetsuits on SUP tours (if desired) to assure you have a fun, safe, and memorable experience. Our shop is conveniently located inside our sister retail store, Sand Beach Outfitters on Main Street in downtown Bar Harbor.

Rented 2 class I e-bikes for 4 hours and self-toured the “tri-lakes” of Acadia. Online reservations were easy. The guys at the shop were very chill. They even extended our time by 30 min because instructions, directions and signing waivers for a small group cut into our 4 hr reserved time. Bikes were in great shape and battery was powerful and long lasting. Very happy with our experience.

We attempted to rent some e-bikes for Acadia National Park, but everyplace was sold out. Then a Google search brought up Acadia SUP and I was ecstatic to find they had two available. They showed us how to use their e-assist bikes and off we went for a FABULOUS ride on the park’s Carriage Road system of trails. Definitely recommend these guys!

We had a great day riding e-bikes rented from this establishment. The people who signed us up and got the bikes ready we’re friendly and also made sign ups very quick. The bikes were in great condition. They provided locks and helmets also. The carriage roads are great place to ride the bikes and we got to ride alongside beautiful views, including lakes, ferns and woods. Would definitely go back to this establishment to rent the bikes again.

Renting e-bikes here was such a smart move! We leisurely arrived, were fitted with helmets and given ample instructions. It was not difficult to ride up to the park entrance from Main Street. The bikes performed beautifully during our day-long excursion. Other people often stopped to view our e-bikes, noting the quality. We were able to navigate the many carriage trails in the park with ease.

Rented eBikes from this in town location for a day trip on the Acadia carriage roads. A smaller business shop nestled on Main Street in Bar Harbor well worth the visit. Staff was awesome very helpful totally stress free experience along with best prices found in the area. Get there early for reservation parking is limited in town other than that highly recommended establishment..!!

We rented e-bikes to explore Acadia. Had a great time! Bikes very easy to ride and we were provided with a map and bike locks… we brought our own helmets. Such a fun day and so convenient to where we were staying. It was perfect!

This was our first time trying E-Bikes and boy was it a blast. Chris and his team were professional and friendly. We were giving instructions on how to use the bike and all our questions were answered. We didn’t feel rushed throughout the whole process. Bike riding the Carriage Roads couldn’t have been more fun. Wonderful experience and I highly recommend this adventure shop

Weather doesn't matter.... Chris took us to Long Pond during a rainy day and we were the only ones on the lake.
He found us great areas that the wind wasn't hitting so the water was smooth. We did 2 miles and had a great time.
Chris was knowledgeable about Acadia and paddle boarding. All of us learned key pb'ing techniques and no one fell in.... although we were soaked from the rain.

An excellent activity during a time of social distancing. Our guide Nell was great -- she took the time to show us the correct way to paddle (contrary to one previous experience) and had us standing on the water in no time. Under the company's Covid policy, they are only taking out one family unit but at the same rate, so my wife and I basically had a private experience for the same cost as a group of 8. The water was clear and calm, and we saw and heard Loons. It was the highlight of my week in Bar Harbor.
Reserving a time was easy, the directions were clear and we followed Nell right to the lake. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone in the Bar Harbor area.

Acadia SUP was one of the best things about our recent trip to Acadia and Mount Desert Island, and not just for the beautiful scenery and calm, uncrowded waters of Bar Harbor but our friendly and knowledgeable guide Nell, the quality equipment, and the easy, no-hassle experience. They even have a nice building and sharp merch. As Chicagoans, we regularly paddle on Lake Michigan and inland lakes in Wisconsin and Michigan, but we had never paddled on the ocean before and were a bit anxious about it. We need not have worried. We were treated to glassy water and Nell gave us clear and valuable instruction before beginning and as we set out. She also made pleasant conversation during our paddle when we wanted to talk but was never gabby or intrusive, and she matched our pace to ours. The boards and paddles were in great shape and easy to handle. And the water was spectacular. We even saw a bald eagle! What a way to experience coastal Maine! So much better and freer and more peaceful than the large groups of kayakers taking off from the sandbar around the same time. I would highly recommend this to any visitor who is curious, in decent shape, and has a sense of adventure.
