Our thanks and gratitude goes to L. L. Bean for their annual contribution of 1 million dollars which keeps this great free service operating. Thanks to the great drivers and their knowledge of the Island. This free service goes a long way to reduce the traffic on the roads, it's a shame the terminal in Trenton does not get but... More

The bus stops at the campground (Narrows Too) that we are staying at. What an easy way to get around. Have rode it several times, once into Bar Harbor to shop in the Village Green area, another time we got off at the Visitor Center in Acadia National Park and caught the Loop Bus and did a loop in the... What a great service. Free bus routes everywhere you really want to be. No parking the car. No driving narrow streets. No in Village traffic. Used bus from Narrows Campgrounds into Acadia and Village several times. On time, clean, polite, FREE. Thanks to LL BEAN for their contributions toward our environment. Awesome drivers.

We love the island explorer bus system. Get around MDI safely & save yourself the headache of finding parking! It's the only way to go.

It was great not having to worry about driving and finding parking in the park, plus the explorer gives hikers the ability not to have to do round trip hikes.

We wish the shuttle started earlier in the year than Jun 23 but we adjusted our vacation to take advantage of free transport all around Acadia and into Bar Harbor. Drivers are knowledgeable and friendly. Way to go.

Using the Island Explorer was a wonderful and convenient way to see the different sites at the park. The maps were very clear and easy to understand and the drivers were very pleasant!

We left our car in Bar Harbor and used the Island Explorer bus as our shuttle service when hiking Cadillac Mountain from the north trail entrance to the south, and it was clean, convenient, friendly, and greatly appreciated! What a great idea and service to offer. Thanks to the sponsors and coordinators of this terrific and environmentally friendly service!

This was such a blessing on our recent trip. The shuttle bus picked us up at our hotel and took us where we needed to go without any problems. It is awesome that there is no charge for this service, although we did donate. We were in bar harbor for 4 days and we didn't have to drive at all,... More
