Beautiful views, fun fairways, fast greens, and great staff. Pricey, but an enjoyable and memorable round. Every employee we saw or came in contact with was courteous, friendly and respectful. Many thanks to the grounds keepers for their efforts at not distracting golfers.

Surprisingly good food for a casual lunch. We even brought our well behaved dog who sat quietly under the table on the deck. Nice burgers, good salads, quesadillas, and other specials. Fair prices and always pleasant service. The view overlooking the golf course and toward the park is delightful. We try to eat here a couple times each summer and are never disappointed. It isn't crowded and the setting is very relaxing. Great service too!

Was in Bar Harbor for the week & decided to play a round while wife was at the spa. The course was convenient to Bar Harbor. The course has some neat history and great views. The layout was decent. The greens were well maintained and quite fast, you definitely want to be below the hole. Greens fees were quite pricey - for the price I expect a lot more. I've played courses of similar quality for a fraction of the price. I've also played other courses for this price that had a much better track to play. All in all, it was a nice round, but I don't know that I would play it again, unless greens fees decreased.

This a really nice course with a very attentive staff but the true selling point is the surrounding beauty. The course is a bit pricey but they certainly do their best to get it in great condition with the short season they have. The greens were absolutely perfect. The course is user friendly for all levels, I played as a single and the locals all let me play through and finished in 3 hours. If you can get over the gravel cart paths and gas golf carts, you will be glad you played here.

We traveled to Bar Harbor recently for the destination wedding of my nephew. Many who were attending planned to arrive prior to the weekend, and so we planned for a day of "golf with the groom", on Friday before the big event.
I was in touch numerous times over the past months with Peter, the club pro to set up our day. Peter was very accommodating, allowing advance reservation of tee times, and the fine tuning of our numbers two weeks prior.
Our four groups teed off on Friday morning and were done in plenty of time for those in the wedding party to make the rehearsal. I think our round was just about 4 1/2 hours.
The course, especially the greens was in very good shape, especially considering the drought conditions in New England this summer. Had a great day at the 8th oldest course in the US.

We have been doing family reunions to Bar Harbor for the past 20 years and I must say this past visit (7-2-2015) the course played better than ever.
The grounds crew has done a spectacular job making the course one of the best in the Northeast.
My only gripe is that Maine has some strange alcohol laws that prohibit my Bloody Mary's on the course... lol
If your vacationing in Bar Harbor, you must try the 8th oldest course in America.

Thank you for taking the time to review Kebo Valley Golf Club. At Kebo we strive to make your day a great one, from the time you walk into our pro shop until you leave the property. I am sorry we could not allow you to take a Bloody Mary onto the course, but, as you stated, it is a Maine state law. We hope sometime soon the state will rewrite the law and allow more than malt liquor on the golf course. I hope your rating was not lowered by this state law. Of course, our Trip Advisor goal is to always provide the experience that deserves a 5 Star rating. We do hope to see you again at Kebo, Maine's oldest and best golf club.
Keep it in the short grass!

What do you get when you combine Myopia Hunt Club with Royal Dornoch?
You get Kebo Valley. Herbert Leeds and Donald Ross. Leeds the Myopia designer is largely credited with the design at Kebo but his work encompassed only 9 holes and many of those were later changed. Someone else was responsible for the the changes and the second nine. Historical data is limited but Donald Ross is believed by some to have had a say in both and his firm designed many other courses in the state including the Northeast Harbor Golf club, a mere twelve miles from Kebo.
If Kebo isn't a Donald Ross course someone did one hell of a job imitating him.

Thank you for taking the time to review Kebo Valley Golf Club. We appreciate your kind words, and we are glad you had a great day.
You are right to say a course does not have to be 7200 yards to be challenging. Kebo plays to a Par 70, and at just over 6000 yards so by today's standards Kebo certainly is not long. However, over 125 years the course record still stands at 65, just 5 under par, first set by Sir Walter Hagen in 1922.
Once again, thank you for playing Kebo, and we hope to see you again on your next visit to Bar Harbor.
Keep it in the short grass!

Finding this place at night time is a little difficult. I am glad I had a GPS. I went for someone's 35 anniversary party. Excellent food and nice homey atmosphere.
