We made Hulls Cove Visitor Center our first stop before beginning our 4 night stop in Bar Harbor. We enjoyed the film featured at the center and picked up various maps and asked questions about hiking and biking trails. Nice restroom facilities here as well. The free Island Explorer shuttle buses have departures from this location. Good place to formulate... More

Hull Cove Visitor Center provides lots of parking, a great orientation film, extensive park literature and a chance to plan your visit with the help of a savvy Ranger.

Super crowded. Not a lot of educational value indoors like some of the Nat'l Park Visitor Centers. We had to wait in line for over half an hour just to get directions w/hiking trails.. It took forever to purchase an accurate hiking map. Also, we learned that many trails are not marked according to the maps. Skip this location--not worth... More

We started here and watched a 15 minute introduction to the park. We opted to purchase the audio tour to guide us from sight to sight. Without the audio we surely would have passed by some of the observation spots. Being seniors we aren't hikers so this was the perfect way to see the highlights of the park.

This is the best place to start your visit if you are a first time visitor. You can get maps of the park, see a movie and explore a giant 3-d map of the island.

We love Acadia Park. We went to the visitor center to start our several day visit. It is unusual in that there a 50+ steps up to the center if you are not handicapped. A couple of OK but confusing exhibits on the steps up. The center had a 15 minute movie which we saw that was nice in what... More

Go early to avoid the long pass lines. Can buy day passes or annual passes, get park maps and great advice. Nice gift shop.

Very informative but there are 52 stairs to go up. Typical national park information. I would suggest going there to get the park info

Worse access to a NP visitor center we have every visited and we are from the west so have visited most including Volvcane NP in HI. Have to climb 52 steps to get to center. No information is available at parking level. No map or pass kiosk. No restrooms. We are fit and the climb was not a big deal... More
