First time travelling to the area and my husband and I wanted to explore what Acadia National Park had to offer, but did not know where to begin. We were able to book an afternoon tour 2-4:30 and we are glad we were able to do this! The driver, I believe her name was Gloria, was informative and generous in her time to answer questions, even after the tour. We were able to receive a great overview and thus make plans for any possible future visits to the area. The 15 minute stops were just enough time to take in the view and use a restroom (for 2 of the 3 stops). The only thing we could not do was visit the gift shop. Due to Covid restrictions, limited people were allowed inside and the line was too long. I recommend bringing a sweater (even on a warm day), as the air can be cold when the trolley is moving. The windows are difficult to close (we gave up on ours). Be sure to arrive early, as parking may be difficult to find. We parked quite a distance away, so if walking is difficult for you, this may be a concern. The Trolley ticket stop is behind a building, so you cannot see it from the road. I don't recall the building, but perhaps they mention this on their website. The street parking is fee requested using a Kiosk machine. Restrooms are available across from the trolley ticket booth.

I booked this tour due to a suggestion in a Maine Facebook group as one of the best ways to see Acadia. I do not like to drive in congested areas or mobs of people, which I expected in both Bar Harbor and Acadia. The tour was for 2 pm but when we arrived, we were able to change our reservation to 1 pm. Parking is metered on the street at $2 an hour ( max 4 hrs) or there's a parking lot near by for $5 an hour ( cash). We were able to reset after 3 hrs and pay additional hours to the meter. The tour guide was Rick and he was very funny and knowledgeable. It is a narrated tour, so he does give out a lot of great information. The stops feel rushed at 15 minutes each, but I expected that. If you want more time, I'd suggest the 4 the tour because you get a half hour at each stop. The views are gorgeous and the price was fair. I saw the traffic going in and am glad that we got to do it this way. I would not want to miss anything by stopping/ driving frequently and finding parking in those crowds.

We took the 4 hour tour with multiple 30 minute stops. This is the best way to get an overview of the park. The driver was fanrastic, providing a great deal of background about the history of Acadia. Seeing it while learning about it is more meaningful than just reading about it. Tour hits the high points, Cadillac Mt., Jordan Pond, etc. We knew where we wanted to spend more time on our return to the park. If you are here for a day or a week thus is a must do. I do recommend taking food/snacks and beverages as Jordan Pond is the only place to get good and the lines are long.

They're easy to find : right where the cruise ships tender into port, our driver Mark was funny and informative at the same time .We thought the price was reasonable as well The trolley has windows ,so they can be open or shut depending on the weather. We made only two stops, but had enough time to see what we wanted. I do suggest you get reservations in advance. We took the 2.5 hour tour in the morning , then had lobster rolls at a restaurant for lunch , then walked around the main street of town before returning to the ship.

Our tour guide was Jim. He was absolutely wonderful--a treasure trove of knowledge about Bar Harbor and the Park. Jim is experienced at doing tours. As a result, he was very wise and diplomatic about the way he handled people and suggested seating. He spoke slowly and clearly enough so that we could hear and understand him over the trolley's loud speaker system, and yet, his delivery never lagged.
The scenery in the Park is gorgeous. But people could visit the Park and see the scenery without a guide. However, having Jim's narration brought history alive as well as details about the physical features we were observing.
What a great experience! Thank you, Jim!

We booked a morning 2 1/2 hour tour of Bar Harbor via the park loop. We picked this tour so it would give us an idea of where things were located and also take us to some of the sites we didn’t want to miss, Thunder hole, Jordan Pond and Cadillac Mountain. Our tour guide was very informative and we learned about the area which we would have missed out on doing this on our own. I would recommend if you are short on time and want to see of the beautiful scenery with no worries about parking etc.

We did the 2 1/2 hour tour. It was very informative and a great way to see the more famous sites of the park. We had the advantage of less crowds due to Covid so traffic moved. Our driver was very informative and they did social distancing on the trolley, every other seat. If you only have a day to spend in Acadia, I would suggest doing the first tour and going back in your car to the sites you want to spend more time at, such as the beach.

We found Oli's Trolley an entertaining and informative trip around the Loop Road and Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. Our driver/narrator was engaging, funny and very informative.
The Oli's Trolley tour was one of the first things we did on our week at Acadia -- so we could scope out the different locations to hike, bike and kayak for the rest of the week. It didn't disappoint. Stopping at the iconic locations along the Loop Road (Cadillac mountain top, Thunder Hole, Sand Beach, Jordan Pond, etc.), we developed a good list of locations to stop at later in the week via mountain bike and on foot.
Entrance fees for the Loop Road and Cadillac Mountain are included in the Oli's Trolley fee.
Note that trolley stops last no longer than 15 minutes, so viewing time is short at these most popular attractions in Acadia. So, for instance, you had no time to go down the steps to Sand Beach, during the very short stop at this location. Still, we had the opportunity to shoot many pics and videos during the trolley tour.

Our driver/tour leader, Jim, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. His knowledge of the history behind the park and BarHarbor enabled him to keep up a steady and interesting dialogue throughout the entire 2-1/2 hour tour. Because our group was small (7 guests) he was able to throw in some anecdotes outside of the normal spiel which added to the enjoyment of the guests. Very well done!

Based on everyone's reviews, we used Oli's while in port. Our tender service through Royal Caribbean was extremely slow and we weren't able to get off in time for our early tour. Oli's was extremely helpful in calling us and helping to get us on a later tour. They were very kind and understanding! Our driver was good and stayed right on schedule, but really put a sour tone on the trip as we entered Acadia National Park by telling two passengers to be quiet because he had to concentrate, and then commented that there were seats in the back if they needed to continue talking. Everyone on the bus was shocked and were not aware of the no talking policy. I didn't even hear them speaking, so don't really know what that was all about.
Other than that, this was a good experience and I'd recommend them. It was a QUICK 2.5 hours with three 15 minute stops at restrooms and gift shops. On a foggy day, there's not much to see, but that's nobody's fault.

Do the windows open on the trolley? What are the covid 19 safety measures? Thank you!
Written July 27, 2021
Yes the windows open. If vaccinated you didn’t have to wear a mask. I prefer a breeze so I had my window open the entire time.

Would this be good for child age 7?
Would you recommend the one hour tour to Cadillac Mountain only or the 2.5 hour tour?
Is the meeting location near the Harborside hotel?
Written January 5, 2020
Would be great for a 7 year old. The longer tour is better as there is lots to see. Leaves from the harbour area
