This is our fourth trip to Oahu and we always go to this beach for boogie boarding. The weather can be more of a challenge than Waikiki, i.e. windier, cooler, and more cloudy, but we wouldn’t go if all we wanted were to lie out in the sun. The parking lot has never been full and it is a 50 yard walk from there to the beach. There is a restroom facility with showers to rinse off salt and sand and room to change.

This beach, as most of the Oahu beaches is incredibly blue and crystal clear. What it’s really good, is that parking is abundant, which is not the case to all beaches, it’s free and have tons of space for camping under the trees, with bathroom structure. Plus the beach is quite large, so even if it’s busy, there’s still quite a lot of space for everyone. This is a great place to spend the day with the family.

This is a great beach. The water is a little rougher but the sand is soft underfoot. Less crowded than other beaches. Lots of families having picnics and parties out. There’s a bathroom with showers (no hand soap, FYI).
My kids stayed in the water the whole time we were here. People seemed friendly. Saw a beach patrol twice on 4X4.
I recommend this beach.

Sherwood Beach is great for swimming, to sit under the beach umbrella and watch the scenery, or to enjoy a picnic in the wooded area under a nice shady tree. Parking is usually ok, and there are bathrooms and shower facilities. There is also camping, and you need to apply for a permit.

Simple review; beautiful beach...hidden gem! Let's keep it this way!
This beach is by far the most beautiful I have seen. I rate this by how populated the beach is, cleanliness, quality of the sand and overall view.
The beach had no more than 60 people on it for our 6 hour stay there. It's not full of tourists so it's nice and quiet, with an authentic experience just mingling with the locals.
The beach is impeccably clean hence transforming into a wedding destination - I think I counted 8 weddings including the one I was attending.
As weird as this sounds, the quality of the sand is important to! Contrasting this sand to that of beaches in the tourist heavy Waikiki, it's like comparing actual sand to kitty litter! The sand here is all natural, small grains mixed with shells and other things that occur in nature as opposed to the white powdery stuff that lingers on your sandals.
Lastly the view is just amazing, deep blue ocean, island off the coast, you might even see a turtle or five!
I love this beach and I'm sharing this because you, responsible reader, should go out and experience it. This is a beach for people who don't care to be around kids....

This beach is gorgeous. We were told by a local that this would be a great place to take our kids, ages 7&9, to boogie board. We all had fun in the water.

This was kind of the beaten path, but we were told of the place and WOW! Easy walk from the road, and the place was incredible!

We spent the day at the Sherwood Forest beach. It is a beautiful beach, nice and clean and a spectacular view. The water was the bluest I’ve ever seen. There were no rocks at all just sand. We had a cookout on the beach with 20 people. The bathrooms were a little messy but they had them which was convenient.

We have visited this beach each time we have come to Oahu on the recommendation of a local. It never disappoints. Even on the busiest of weeks...New Years eve we visited the beach without a big crowd. Windy day with tough boogie boarding, but a fabulous day with an amazing view.

We renewed our wedding vows at this beach, photos were amazing. We also swam at this beach and is perfect for the family. Patrolled during the day, shallow and not rough. Plenary of shade and bathroom facilities.

My son is getting married in November 2019 at Sherwood Forest Beach. Do they have a special location to have a reception after the wedding. I will have it catered but wanted to know if we need to reserve a spot or is it first come first serve.
