Day began picked up from our hotel by a friendly and courteous driver (Marlon) in a very comfortable coach, he also took us back. Great guy! A memorable 3 hour cruise with a fantastic crew (Laura, Faith, Kimberley and Jake), we watched dolphins up close, snorkeled for 40 minutes with the crew who placed certain sea creatures in the palms of our hands like the sea cucumber. A lovely freshly cooked barbecued burger lunch with various salads topped everything off. Well worth doing!

This cruise was one of the best marine watching trips that I have been on. My family and I had opted out of snorkeling though while the other participants were out captain Kaina told us stories of the island, helped us feed fish and helped us find a turtle that was coming toward the boat. Captain Kaina also let our kids steer the boat and taught them about the different dials and knobs that are used for maneuvering a boat. The crew brought sea creatures up to the boat for us to touch and learn about even bringing an octopus out so that we could touch him and learn more about him. After the snorkelers were back on the boat we found a large pod of dolphins that were heading back toward our harbor and we sailed along side of them for almost 30 min as the dolphins jumped and showed off. We were also surprised with a late season whale visit as well. I could not have asked for a better experience I would love to come back and spend more time with this amazing crew! My nephew (age 13) notes “ The crew was cheerful and helpful. The captain was very sociable and funny. The boat ride had very good observation platforms. The Burgers on Water was an experience to remember. We were very interested when one of the crew brought an octopus onboard. I will highly recommend Dolphin Star for exotic Hawaii adventures.”

Extremely friendly staff!! My family enjoyed this dolphin excursion! If you didn't purchase the snorkeling activity then the option was given during the cruise, which was 3 hours with lunch. I do recommend. Little kids learning and coloring while snorkeling going on. Cash bar with good cocktails and beer as well as water and soft drinks abd juice for kids. Organic motion sickness pills provided if want or need. We saw soooo many dolphins and fed tropical fish.

Staff was wonderful, as was lunch. The method of snorkeling might have been due to ocean safety? But was very much bunched up on top of each other, and very short. Probably 25 minutes actual snorkeling, 15 minutes of lining up in the water holding a rope. Saw ZERO dolphins or whales, which is nature, and cant be controlled.

We signed up for the Wild Dolphin Watching Cruise and BBQ Lunch. When we got on the boat they offered snorkeling, which we did not sign up for. We thought, okay, just a detour and we'll go on to see the Dolphins and other wildlife. No, we went out to the snorkeling site, and after snorkeling we headed right back to the dock. There was no searching for dolphins of any kind. It was so disappointing. We mentioned this to Kimberly, who was one of the staff. She may have told the Captain because then he took us to a spot to see 2 dolphins. This was still not what we signed up for. Please be sure you know what you sign up for. We felt duped and would not recommend this to anyone.
