    Beautiful experience
This experience was recommended to us by a friend, and what a perfect recommendation it was. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and even though it has been over a decade since my last horseback ride, they made sure we were safe and comfortable. It’s a wonderful experience to share as a couple, my boyfriend and I enjoyed it very much, especially after our guide told us that the horses we were riding were also a bonded pair- so cute! Our guide, Dyna, was so friendly, and knowledgeable about the horses, the polo club, and had lots of fun facts about the island. Thank you to the team and the beautiful horses, Storm and Scotch, for making it an unforgettable experience.

    Amazing views of North Shore
My wife and I had a great time visiting Hawaii Polo Club. Very easy ride and spectacular views of the North Shore! The staff was friendly and extremely personable. Would definitely recommend to others! Only advice would be is to give yourself extra time to get there.

    Highly recommend Hawaii Polo Club!
We had an amazing time horseback riding on the beach (with glimpses of mountains as well) with Hawaii polo club. Our guide Lauren was very sweet and informative about things to do and see in the area. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to horseback ride in a stunning location :)

    Great time, beautiful views!
This was one of my kids favorite excursions. The guide was great - so nice and friendly. The horses were well-trained and for people who ride very rarely, it felt very safe. We got to go along the ocean which was just beautiful. And she took some great family pics of us all which was so appreciated! Definitely recommend.

    Beach Trail Ride
Phoebe was our trail guide and she was the best! She was patient, funny, and knowledgeable. She made the ride so much fun. We did the beach trail ride and loved every minute of it. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Oahu.

    Great experience
Beautiful view and friendly staff. Hope they could give real value of sunset beach horseback riding to everyone, because when they help us took photos, they spent most of the time to the couple before us, and the sun already disappeared so that in our photos, there were no difference to normal time riding. ( I know that because our friends had a normal time riding.) And for us, the photo only took half time of the couple before us. Also, because I was the last one, and my horse they chose for me likes to walk slowly, so that I was always left behind and walking alone. I could hear the guide talked with the first couple continuously and seemed very happy to talk to the guide, and all the things left for me was just lonely and isolated from that. Also my boyfriend seemed being bored and ignored because of that and my horse was always far far away from the whole team. I still tipped because I believed that they are not intentionally doing this, they just didn’t notice. So five stars, and hope they would give better experience to customers for what they are paying for.

    Gorgeous Scenery
We decided to take a trail ride along the ocean here as something new to do since my fiancé has never been on a horse. It was very peaceful and beautiful. The ladies working the ranch were very friendly, nice, and accommodating. I would definitely come back here but next time it’ll be to learn to play polo!

A fantastic ride on the beach at sunset
We had a magical ride with Lauren as our guide. Since we are recent “transplants” from the SF Bay Area in California, we are excited to come back for rides with visiting friends, and also to watch polo in the summer!! Thanks so much for a very aloha experience. 🫶🏼

    Highly recommend 10/10!
Highly recommend 10/10! Such a wonderfully special sunset ride! Our guide was great, as she took us along the property, past the polo fields, and along the beach. Towards the end of it, she was kind in offering to take our photos along the scenic backdrop of the beach. Well worth doing on our last day in Honolulu!

    Beautiful
Although it was raining right before our ride and we didn’t have that sunset view the rain cleared up just in time for our ride. Can’t go wrong with a beautiful beach and a forest feel at the same time! The staff was friendly and easy going but I can’t say the same about Olaf my horse! I guess I got a stubborn horse .. it wasn’t my first time riding so I would say not beginner friendly. Other than that it’s a wonderful experience

We booked the sunset ride and followed the directions about getting there by 430 for instructions since the ride was at 5 (scheduled 5-630). We arrived at the location at 425 and no one was there aside from the polo players and trainers, who told us that someone would be there soon to check us in. That person didn't arrive until 445 and had us grab a helmet that fit and said that we were waiting for another couple. The couple showed up at 455. We were then told we had to go to another location for the horseback ride. I don't recall any reviews saying that was what to do. Luckily we had a large SUV so we got thru the muddy wooded terrain ok but it was Offroading. We finally got our instructions at 510 and were on our horses at 520. While our guide was a super nice girl, she was on her 3rd day at the job and just arrived to the island, so she had no talking points about the island and what we were seeing on our ride. We rode along the beach, but not on the beach. We got on the beach to take a few photos, which was nice because she used our camera and took many photos (yay for not having to pay for professional photos). Our ride was over shortly after 6. So the advertised 1.5 hrs was actually 35-40 min. and you don't actually see the sunset, it's just during sunset time. Like i said our guide was super sweet but she just needed training and a few talking points. The manager was nice too and explained how to ride the horse and get on/off well. The low score here was because they seem disorganized and weren't on time, i don't feel it's worth the money as is for a 30 min ride, if it were more as advertised and provided history then I'd give more stars.

the ride was ok, nothing special. Very slow and not great views. It did say goes on the beach "Yes! In fact, Oahu Horseback Rides is the only trail ride on Oahu that goes on the beach!" that was one of the FAQ Answer. we never got on the beach. They have video and pictures of people on the beach, but we were away back on the shoreline. (about 15-20 feet away) We were close but not on. but that is only for a very short period. the rest is just way towards the back. It should also note that they will go by a nude beach so they can prepare for kids.

We called and informed them that my Stepson have been in the hotel for the past day and half with a very bad migraine and asked to reschedule. Not cancel but reschedule for another day to help him recover. They said we have to take him into a urgent care and get a note, if not they cannot /will not do anything about it. there really isn't much an Urgent care can do. When my wife and I got there (Cause we didn't want to lose $$$) they never come and talk to us. Since they already got the $$$ they don't care if we show up or not. We gave them chances to make it right but NOTHING.

I would never use them again or advice ANYONE to use them. False advertisement and poor customer services.

Again stay away!!!!!

To the average kama’aina it’s pretty pricey but I understand that it takes work to take care of these animals and the workers do a great job!
Such a wonderful outing during this covid time. It takes you away to appreciate and de-stress. This my first time on a horse that was not pulled by its trainer. I was a little scared at first but if my 8year old child took the reigns like a champ, anyone can do it! We did this as a family of 4 and everyone can’t wait to go back!!!

Our two girls really enjoy this ride! It seemed very well run and the staff seemed knowledgeable. The ride lasted just over an hour and, as a bonus, the riders were able to feed the horse a snack after the ride. We booked the sunset ride, and my only complaint would be that the sun sets on the opposite side of the mountains from this site. So although they rode during the sunset, they did not actually get to see it fully set over the ocean like we expected. Other than that it was a good experience

I took my 3 daughters with me and felt like the horses were well trained, calm and the scenery was great. The employees were friendly, but I was a little surprised at how little the guides actually interacted, especially with my daughters. I felt like I had to ask them questions for them to even say anything. Typically I'd expect a guide to approach my daughters (10-19 years Old) and engage a little bit, to make the ride a little more enjoyable. Though Please don't misunderstand, they were never rude, just quiet. Also, for those that are sensitive about it- the ride goes right next to a nude beach about 50 feet away from the trail. It got a few giggles out of my 10 year old from feeling embarrassed and fortunately, most of the people on the beach (there weren't too many) seemed to position themselves to allow for little visibility to the trail, for which I was grateful. The only reason I comment on this is that it would have been nice for someone to at least note that when we were signing up or before we went out, rather than being surprised by it. It wasn't a real big deal and frankly the scenery the other direction from the beach was nice to look at regardless. Just a little awkward for my kids who aren't overly sensitive to that kind of stuff. All in all, for a nice relaxing ride, I'd recommend them however.

The manager is extremely rude, I called for an accommodation to my itinerary and the first thing she said is a scripted "Sorry sir, we cannot help you, this is your fault and we pushed away other customers for you." and told me there will be no refunds and/or rebookings for me.

I wanted to move my date around. Was extremely aggressive and rude to me on the phone.

This is not a ride, this is a very slow nose-to-tail group walk with the horses, all behind eachother, on a very poor trail. The sun sets behind the mountain, so you're walking in the shadow of the mountain. Not worth the money and effort to go there if you're looking for a real sunset horseback ride experience.

We had a group of ten people, three of us own our own horses and the rest had little to no riding experience and they were great with all of us. The pictures that they have on their website does not do it justice, it is incredible. As good as the views were the horses were very very good, not to tame and not too spirited either which was wonderful as my 86 year old father was with us and had no riding experience in the last 30 years. We had a young lady named Roxy lead our group and she was extremely personable and knowledgeable and it was a pleasure talking to her. I would highly recommend doing a ride with them.

My husband and I booked ourselves for a sunset ride on the very last day of our Honeymoon in Honolulu. We were to drive from Waikiki to the North Shore where the polo center is located (typically a 45 minute). I was extremely excited- I grew up with horses, but unfortunately haven't been in a saddle in nearly ten years now, this was a very thoughtful gift from my husband. Despite leaving nearly 2 hours before the start of the ride, we were ensnared in traffic. It took nearly 45 minutes just to get onto H-1. Google Maps kept pushing back our arrival time to way past the start of the ride and we realized we had no chance of making it. I wish I was kidding when I say that I then called, completely in tears, to tell staff that we weren't going to make it. The woman on the other end of the phone talked over me, didn't actually listen to anything that I was saying, and overall made us out to feel crappy about the situation. We paid $300 for a ride that we didn't make, due to circumstances totally out of our control, with no options for solution. This woman then proceeded to tell me she would speak to the owner about about potentially issuing us a gift card to use the next time we visit (all we ever were hoping for). There was no chance of us making a ride the next day with our flight's departure time. We have still not received a call back.

Some of the people were nice, some weren’t. There was this one woman who was pretty bossy and handled the horses roughly, which was hard to see. Out of the 52 horses there, they gave us 2 horses in our 4 person group that they knew didn’t get along. Well, mine was one of those 2 and he got kicked by another horse which scared me and put me in a dangerous situation. Then there were these 2 random dogs that appeared out of nowhere and could have spooked our horses, but thankfully our guide was great with horses and navigated us out of the situation carefully. Guide was great, pictures were great, sunset was great but they seemed a little rushed getting us the horses and I would have preferred they fed the horses first for the sunset ride because not only did I feel bad but all my horse wanted to do was eat and had to be led by the lead the entire time.
