Awesome experience and a lot of fun. Highly recommend reserving tickets ahead of time for the tailgate/beach side (~$15 I think). They were sold out of those when we went so we had purchase the VIP tickets (~$45) and had to pay the cork fee to bring in outside drinks ($10 for a 6-pack). There were no added benefits to being in the VIP section; it’s just a series of tables in a roped off section on the near side of the field.
On the beach side, you bring your own lawn chairs, tailgate, tables, food, drinks, lawn games, etc for a cheaper price and you’re right by the beach. Definitely seems like you pay more for less with the VIP section.
Overall, great experience and they do a great job of explaining Polo and the rules for those of us who knew nothing about it. Also some fun games and fan-involvement in between and prior to games. Definitely recommend going and getting there a little bit before the game!

My husband and I visited Hawaii for our 15th anniversary and decided to book a private couples ride. The drive there was beautiful and breathtaking. The place was easy to find. I had never rode a horse a day in my life so I was terrified. Our guide was very helpful and the horses were pretty calm and well trained. Our guide checked on us throughout the entire ride and we was able to witness the most beautiful sunset on the beach. On our way back she even took the time to take pictures of my husband and I. I would recommend Hawaii Polo to anyone. No complaints.

Outstanding opportunity to learn a little more about polo with a great instructor Ella and a great horse Hoagie. Together Ella and Hoagie made me feel like I could progress from walking to maybe trotting while hitting the polo balls. I strongly recommend Hawaii Polo Club for anyone interested in the sport.

We booked the sunset ride and followed the directions about getting there by 430 for instructions since the ride was at 5 (scheduled 5-630). We arrived at the location at 425 and no one was there aside from the polo players and trainers, who told us that someone would be there soon to check us in. That person didn't arrive until 445 and had us grab a helmet that fit and said that we were waiting for another couple. The couple showed up at 455. We were then told we had to go to another location for the horseback ride. I don't recall any reviews saying that was what to do. Luckily we had a large SUV so we got thru the muddy wooded terrain ok but it was Offroading. We finally got our instructions at 510 and were on our horses at 520. While our guide was a super nice girl, she was on her 3rd day at the job and just arrived to the island, so she had no talking points about the island and what we were seeing on our ride. We rode along the beach, but not on the beach. We got on the beach to take a few photos, which was nice because she used our camera and took many photos (yay for not having to pay for professional photos). Our ride was over shortly after 6. So the advertised 1.5 hrs was actually 35-40 min. and you don't actually see the sunset, it's just during sunset time. Like i said our guide was super sweet but she just needed training and a few talking points. The manager was nice too and explained how to ride the horse and get on/off well. The low score here was because they seem disorganized and weren't on time, i don't feel it's worth the money as is for a 30 min ride, if it were more as advertised and provided history then I'd give more stars.

The manager is extremely rude, I called for an accommodation to my itinerary and the first thing she said is a scripted "Sorry sir, we cannot help you, this is your fault and we pushed away other customers for you." and told me there will be no refunds and/or rebookings for me.

I wanted to move my date around. Was extremely aggressive and rude to me on the phone.

the ride was ok, nothing special. Very slow and not great views. It did say goes on the beach "Yes! In fact, Oahu Horseback Rides is the only trail ride on Oahu that goes on the beach!" that was one of the FAQ Answer. we never got on the beach. They have video and pictures of people on the beach, but we were away back on the shoreline. (about 15-20 feet away) We were close but not on. but that is only for a very short period. the rest is just way towards the back. It should also note that they will go by a nude beach so they can prepare for kids.

We called and informed them that my Stepson have been in the hotel for the past day and half with a very bad migraine and asked to reschedule. Not cancel but reschedule for another day to help him recover. They said we have to take him into a urgent care and get a note, if not they cannot /will not do anything about it. there really isn't much an Urgent care can do. When my wife and I got there (Cause we didn't want to lose $$$) they never come and talk to us. Since they already got the $$$ they don't care if we show up or not. We gave them chances to make it right but NOTHING.

I would never use them again or advice ANYONE to use them. False advertisement and poor customer services.

Again stay away!!!!!

My husband and I booked ourselves for a sunset ride on the very last day of our Honeymoon in Honolulu. We were to drive from Waikiki to the North Shore where the polo center is located (typically a 45 minute). I was extremely excited- I grew up with horses, but unfortunately haven't been in a saddle in nearly ten years now, this was a very thoughtful gift from my husband. Despite leaving nearly 2 hours before the start of the ride, we were ensnared in traffic. It took nearly 45 minutes just to get onto H-1. Google Maps kept pushing back our arrival time to way past the start of the ride and we realized we had no chance of making it. I wish I was kidding when I say that I then called, completely in tears, to tell staff that we weren't going to make it. The woman on the other end of the phone talked over me, didn't actually listen to anything that I was saying, and overall made us out to feel crappy about the situation. We paid $300 for a ride that we didn't make, due to circumstances totally out of our control, with no options for solution. This woman then proceeded to tell me she would speak to the owner about about potentially issuing us a gift card to use the next time we visit (all we ever were hoping for). There was no chance of us making a ride the next day with our flight's departure time. We have still not received a call back.

I took my 3 daughters with me and felt like the horses were well trained, calm and the scenery was great. The employees were friendly, but I was a little surprised at how little the guides actually interacted, especially with my daughters. I felt like I had to ask them questions for them to even say anything. Typically I'd expect a guide to approach my daughters (10-19 years Old) and engage a little bit, to make the ride a little more enjoyable. Though Please don't misunderstand, they were never rude, just quiet. Also, for those that are sensitive about it- the ride goes right next to a nude beach about 50 feet away from the trail. It got a few giggles out of my 10 year old from feeling embarrassed and fortunately, most of the people on the beach (there weren't too many) seemed to position themselves to allow for little visibility to the trail, for which I was grateful. The only reason I comment on this is that it would have been nice for someone to at least note that when we were signing up or before we went out, rather than being surprised by it. It wasn't a real big deal and frankly the scenery the other direction from the beach was nice to look at regardless. Just a little awkward for my kids who aren't overly sensitive to that kind of stuff. All in all, for a nice relaxing ride, I'd recommend them however.

Our appt was the first of the morning. The staff were busy working with the horses to prep them for riding. The weather was great! The horses were great! The older staff were not as friendly as the younger staff, however, the as the day progressed the staff got more engaged with answering questions about the property, horses, daily routine, etc. Nonetheless, the cost for 1.5hr true beach shore riding was worth it, especially during the morning. If you have a riding preference (a mare), call ahead of time, otherwise there will be a mix (if you don't mind). Overall, great experience, great photos, plenty of parking, gorgeous scenery, and friendly staff :)

Booked a private ride online. The day before, the weather was terrible (heavy rain). Received email confirming the ride with instructions to arrive by 10:30 am. Their policy was very clear about no refunds. Called the facility and no one answered. The day of, there was heavy rain. Called the facility to confirm if the ride will still happen, no answer. The Polo Club is in a very remote location on the North side of Oahu. The weather report is pretty clear regarding heavy rainstorms. Took a $130 cab ride from our hotel to the facility only to be told the ride will be cancel due to heavy rain. While I understand that safety comes first, the facility should have given some advanced notice. After the cancellation, took another $130 cab ride back to our hotel. A complete waste of time and $260 when they should have simply called or email the morning off and let us know that due to weather, the ride will be cancelled.
