Hawaii’s oldest and largest soaring operation, Original Glider Rides has been operating tours at Dillingham Airfield since 1970. Soaring the skies over northwest Oahu, panoramic vistas unfold as your pilot guides you in this bubble-topped aircraft. You’ll be in awe as you fly on the wings of the wind with sights and sensations you’ve never experienced before. A 20-minute flight can attain altitudes of 3,000 ft. or more. Single passengers can kick it up a notch with specialized add-on flight services like aerobatic loop-d-loops and Eagle mini-lessons.

The company was outstanding. On the day of the flight the weather wasn't perfect for gliding. Whilst the skies were clear, the flight was a little bumpy. The instructor was fantastic, calming my nerves and guiding me through the steps of taking the controls. Due to such a still day, my flight was cut short. The company arranged for me... More

John was an excellent and fun pilot. The airspace over Dillingham offered beautiful mountain and ocean views at 2500 feet.

Quick and efficient operation gets you in the glider and soaring in no time. Enjoy beautiful views of shoreline and the Waianae mountains. Bob was my pilot in the Sky Surfer blue/white SGS 232. I fly R/C sailplanes, and love the beauty of sailplanes. The conditions were such that we got about 20 minute flight. Well worth it.

A fantastic experience whether you're interested in planes or not. The views are terrific. The flight was well worth coming to Hawaii for on its own. I would go again in a flash. The team were very friendly and experienced in what they do. A "must do" as one of your bucket list items.

What an amazing experience! You will need the use of a car as its quite a drive out, but well worth it. We did a two person scenic flight for 15 minutes - and was totally amazing. Cost US$170 which I thought wasn't too bad for such an experience. The pilot was great (sadly can't remember is name) but he... More

Treated our grandson to an aerobatic/scenic flight, and he had a blast. He now knows first-hand how the red tail hawks in our neck of the woods gain altitude while soaring! Sean was a great pilot, providing local information as they flew. Bill, who checked us in, was very friendly and quite amusing. He also helped get it set up... More

I strongly recommand to do the Snorkling in Molokini with Kai kanani. I took six events in Hawaii like Helicopter tour in Kaui, Zipline in Big Island, Glider, Sunset Cruise... but Snorkling is the best!

Soaring in this glider plane with one of the most experienced pilots was nothing less than spiritual....the ride itself was breath-taking but the view was even more so....now I know what birds feel like and see from the heights....the water was a heavenly clear blue...the coral and fish could be seen like you were in the water with goggles on.... Super easy to book the flight on line, went down to Dillingham field a couple of hours before, double checked the weather, all looked good. Drove to the end and hiked the road out to the point before heading back for the 1030 flight. Took the 20 minute flight, that's about all you need to really get a good feel... More

Aerobatic was better than any roller coaster and the scenic 2 person was just beautiful. The people at the Honolulu Soaring made it even better.
