Nice visit to the Dole Pineapple farm
Oct 2021 • Couples
Easy drive to Dole, parking is free. Three tours to do, we toured the gardens only because it was a 90 minute wait for the train.
The gardens are beautiful & you can hear the pineapple story through the wifi & QR code scan.
Enjoy a Pineapple whip & shopping in the store.

crowded

Tourist trap. Arrogant money grab. 90 minute wait for train ride around a field of pineapples. Drive one minute further down the highway, you'll see the same thing. What is a dole whip. 1500 calories of soft serve and some pineapple. Didn't seem all the hoards eating those needed to. Thin obesity, hypertension, diabetes.World largest maze not a maze in the British sense of challenge. Just a thin hedged hallway walks.

Dole whips galore
Sep 2021 • Friends
Went to the Plantation on a Tuesday. We were told the line for the train was an hour and a half when we bought tickets around 10am but we probably only waited 45 minutes and at least 15 of that was under cover at the loading station. We got dole whips first and ate them in line so that helped pass the time too. The train was fun and I enjoyed seeing the plantation. We did the garden walk too which was beautiful. Great place for photos. We got more dole whips (because who can have just one) and shopped a bit in the store. We didn’t wait in line for anything except the train. There is no seating to eat, since they don’t want to have to check vaccine cards due to the state regulations so we didn’t have lunch here like we had originally planned. Overall we were here about 3 hours which I think was a perfect amount of time.

Have seen a better version of the Dole Plantation years ago...
Sep 2021
Our trip to the Dole Plantation was a lot of fun for my wife and son (their first time visiting), however, I was dismayed by all of the closures and limitations placed by Covid. The train ride was fun and the dole whip really enjoyable. We did the maze as well, but ran through it because it was drizzling and not at all stroller-friendly (despite the ticket lady reassuring us that we could take it inside). However, the real kicker was the fact that they had chairs, tables and umbrellas sitting outdoors in plastic wrap--which seemed comical since it was raining and everyone was crowding by the doors for shelter. If you can't use the outdoor seating because of Covid, at least put them away because leaving them outside in plain view is simply a tease! Would hands down go again after Covid is over, but probably not during Covid restrictions.

Some things just do not add up here.
Sep 2021 • Couples
We were told we could not eat the dole whip on the train but could buy some after. So we set out at 4 on the 22 minuet ride. Perfect timing since the place closes at 4:30. But when we got off the train the doors were locked. We were not able to purchase any dole whip. Or use the toilets.
I would recommend treating your employees with more aloha so they treat your visitors with aloha. Instead of making empty promises and leaving their place of work in a hurry.

Long lines, but WELLLL worth it!
Sep 2021 • Couples
Dole is an amazing place with fresh food and (obviously) amazing fruit. The maze is a lot of fun, and the Dole whip is perfect. There are extremely long lines during peak season, so if you want to do the train ride you should arrive early. We brought pineapples back to our resort, and they were fresh for the next week. Best we have ever had!

Just stop for the Dole Whip
Sep 2021
I read the reviews and planned to only stop for the Dole Whip as we drove by, but we happened to arrive within 15 minutes of opening so I figured it couldn't be too bad.

When we approached the ticket window we asked the current wait time for the train and were told 15 minutes so we decided to get tickets. After waiting in the train line for an hour, we gave up. I'm not sure if the ticket seller didn't have good information or flat out lied, but either way it was really frustrating to waste our money like that.

The gardens were nice and it's a self guided tour so you can do it at your own pace. And the Dole Whip was delicious!

I just wish I had gone with my inital instinct and just stopped in for the snack!!

Underwhelming
Sep 2021
The Dole Whip was great but everything else was underwhelming. The line for the garden and train were extremely long. All we ended up doing was walking through the gift shop (over priced and a lot of junk) and getting the Dole Whip (which was the highlight).

I guess it's good to stop by but knowing more about the history of the Dole plantation owner over this trip, It's probably worth just missing it and spending your time somewhere better.

Don't bother
Jun 2021
Very disappointed. We waited in line for two hours in the sun watching people moan and groan about the heat and the time. We watched a groan man lay on the ground in a temper tantrum because he had to wait in the heat and did not wear sunscreen so he was complaining about burning. We even watched a couple carve their name into a leaf on a tree. Once the ride was over, we tried to go inside so my husband could try the Dole Whip, and that was another three hours just to get in. I wish we would have done something else for as much money as it cost to ride the train.
