My girlfriend and I went to the Gunstock Ranch on Valentines Day for the UTV sunset dinner package and had the BEST Valentines we both had ever had.
First, the experience. Upon arriving, you’re greeted by incredibly friendly staff who get you signed in. Off to the side, we noticed a petting zoo and a small area with PUPPIES. We arrived a little early so we’re able to play with the cutest most friendly puppies and say hello to the goats, sheep, and one cow at the petting zoo. Great start. Eventually our name was called and we loaded into a large UTV with Haden, our amazing guide. He gave us a tour of the ranch, all while showing us amazing views, taking our photos, picking fresh guava and lilikoi for us to eat. He told us about the native plants, the history of the ranch, various fun facts, and just generally keeping us entertained throughout our ride. Not that we needed extra entertainment as the ride itself was very fun, but it was more than welcome. The ride itself almost felt like a real life Jurassic Park amusement ride. We were safely strapped in to the UTV and would zoom through the paths, surrounded by beautiful greenery and native plants. We felt safe the whole time, but also had the thrill of a fast ride. Haden even showed us a natural cave that had formed. There were multiple moments where we stopped and were able to get out, take pictures, walk around. To us, this was much better than the horses option, but we still heard people loved that experience as well. At the top of the mountain with the most beautiful view, we had dinner waiting for us and a lovely campfire for s’mores. We enjoyed our dinner before a quick ride back down the mountain before the sun was fully gone.
Second, our guide. Haden was truly an amazing, friendly, and just all around awesome guy. From the very beginning he was kind and informative, offering to take our pictures, show us his favorite views, and pick us fresh fruit to try. He had tons of fun facts and funny sorties about the ranch that truly helped make the experience even better. When we arrived at the top of the mountain, he patiently waited out of ear shot and eye sight for us to finish before taking us back down. He willingly and thoughtfully answered any questions we had. If you ever do the UTV experience, request Haden!!
Overall, we had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back. We’ll be recommending this to all our friends and family.
