About
Ko Olina Golf Club, one of Golf Digest’s “Top 75 Resort Courses in the U.S.” is a challenging 18-hole course built in 1990 by renowned golf course architect Ted Robinson. Typical of his designs, Ko Olina Golf Club features exceptional water features, multi-tiered greens, large landing areas, and a moderate length which makes it perfect for beginners and experts alike. The clubhouse design symbolizes all the aspirations of the resort. Approximately 35,000 square feet, the architecture is characterized by its tri-level design and Hawaiian pitched roofs. Broad overhangs and verandas give it an open atmosphere and provides golfers with spectacular views of the course and landscape. In addition to men’s and ladies’ locker rooms; each equipped with showers, steam rooms and Jacuzzis, the clubhouse includes a comprehensive golf shop, recently voted the top Resort Shop by the Retail Merchants of Hawaii.

To start with, we were overcharged for our rounds. Andy, the check-in guy chose to argue quoted rates vs. what he wanted to charge. That has since been corrected. He first gave us 2 sleeves of balls as a gift from the club, and then as the discussion progressed, he took 2 sleeves back. Rental clubs were relatively old, which is unusual, showing lots of wear. On top of that, they were filthy dirty with sand and mud. Once out on the course, there was no cloth provided or any way to clean old dirt or newly acquired debris.

The course was nice and lush. Greens might have been a little long as they were extremely slow.

The course may well be the best on Oahu. Very playable with wide fairways, but it also has some challenging holes. A few errant drives cost me three lost balls in the water and three double bogies accordingly. The sand traps need more sand, but otherwise the course is well maintained with several stunningly beautiful holes. It is expensive, but this is Hawaii. You won’t regret playing here.

Whatever you do DO NOT golf here. This course is not worth what you pay. The play is extremely slow, staff is EXTREMELY rude, the course is not well maintained (you can walk in the sand trap without leaving footprints, the sand is THAT hard), the carts are in terrible shape (the parking brakes didn’t work), you have to pay for range balls if you want to hit more than 20 (even after paying $250 for your round), driving range is mats only, the list goes on and on and on. Terrible experience. I would never recommend this course to anyone.

Great course, super condition, one of the best on oahu. For a premier golf course was pretty disappointed in the staff and service though. Asked about if their was a snack shop and guy at pro shop said yeah but not open at this hour (4:00 on Saturday). Drove past it a few minutes later to find out it was open. When we finished around 6 tried to use the restroom while some worker was locking it up, made us feel that we were inconveniencing him to simply use the restroom. Just silly dumb stuff for a course that wants to charge 100+ a round, get it together.

Course is lovely. We have played many courses across Hawaii over the years after previously having lived in the islands. But our 4:10 tee time led to only playing 8 holes in 3 hours before carts were supposed to be in at 7 pm on Fathers Day. So if you don’t mind 6 hour rounds you will be content. Two days later I tried again as a single & once again only got 14 holes in over 4 hours. The course is lovely. The people who worked there were kind, but just not a fun golf experience due to time it takes for a round & unclear communication.

This course has literally no views of the ocean but it is fun to play. The staff treated you like you belonged to their club and they were happy to have us there. It rained on the last hole and I slipped and landed hard on the cart path. The slopes where you park the carts can be slippery. Watch for out for that!

Great course, nicely kept/maintained, greens a little slow, good customer service Range worked well. Round pace a little slow with a large group ahead but it was also weekend.
Not cheap but better rate for Resort guests. Would recommend.

The weather and the course were perfect. Fairways and greens were immaculate. Staff was awesome. Drinks and snacks are reasonably priced. FYI. no cash is accepted. Card only. Makes it hard to tip if you're paying with card.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Course is well maintained, greens in good condition. Unfortunately for us, the day we played it was cart path only because of rain the night before. Walking and humidity zapped all of us. LOL, especially if you hit it long and wrong. It's golf, gotta challenge yourself. We will be back!!!

A beautiful course, well manicured and lovely to play. It is certainly difficult enough, but unless you're playing in a tournament, my recommendation is to enjoy the view and the company and not keep score. Expensive as expected and they definitely keep on you for pace of play!
