Surf was rough the day we were there

The "other side" of Oahu. Much less touristy (as evidenced by the attached photo). But a beautiful beach surrounded by beautiful green mountains.

It is a truly wonderful beach park for snorkelers. There is a small beach where you can get in and get out of water. I was there 3 times during this trip and I found that a bright sunny day is better for snorkeling there. The coral reef in Kahe Point is much beautiful than the Hanauma Bay. But in... More

Dog friendly, relaxing, and very family oriented. Plan on staying for sunset, one of the most beautify in the world. Pack plenty of sun screen and bring a snorkel. Summer is the best time for snorkeling and the sealife is abundant. Have fun!!!

This was quite the find....We were looking for someplace to catch a glimpse of some big waves, without driving all the way out to North Shore. One of our waitresses at our hotel, suggested this beach park, which was only a few minutes up the road. Plenty of parking and it seemed very much like a local beach. We certainly... More

Just around the bend from the Ko'Olina resort area is a local beach where many tidepools and beautiful clear water are abundant! Almost always sunny here!

The small beach is also known as Electric Beach due to proximity to the power plant. The shape of the small bay concentrates the surf so it's quite intense right at the beach making water entry tricky for beginners. You have to get out a hundred feet or so before the surf settles and the water clears but, by then... More

One of my favorite places on the island. You can snorkel, dive and BBQ here. I've done all three and I can say diving here is my favorite. I've seen octopus, turtles, sharks and plenty of fishes. You will not be disappointed by this little piece of sand. The shore break can be a little punishing at times but it... More

Kahe Power Point does have warm water, yes...that's what also attracts all kind of other sea life including large sharks to the area. The water is crystal clear at certain times of the year (not so much in the Winter months with large waves) and you can see fish, turtles, dolphins some miles out and sharks. It always amazes me... This was great for an intermediate snorkeler. Definitely not for beginners, there is no lifeguard, and there is a strong current at times. We really enjoyed it, maybe take a kickboard or floaty for extra safety. The shave ice guy shows up in the parking lot randomly too.

This place has a newly renovated bathroom and a large pavilion great for parties. The beach is small but if you are a good snorkeler you can see some great fish and turtles. Parking can be challenging during the summer months as this is a prime place for SCUBA instructors and their classes.
