We were taking the Kamehameha Highway to the north shore and saw the sign to this park. So we took it since it was early part of our trip. The park is up on the side of a hill that overlooks the ancient fishponds to the west and then to the north you can see Chinaman's hat. There were very few people here but it was a nice stop and some good photo ops. Lots of cats inhabit this park.

We had an awesome day. Powered thru a snafu with the pick up but then had a great time kayaking out to the reef. Snorkelling was fantastic. Visibility was good, water was calm, almost no wind. Saw some turtle and a wide variety of fish. Expected a cheesy sub lunch but came back to a huge BBQ feast of ribs, chicken, pineapple and rice. Andy, Kevin and Yani were all great hosts and guides. Such a great day. Mahalo guys.

This is a beautiful park and it overlooks an ancient fish pond. There are hundreds of cats living here. People drop them off. Bring some food.

This State Park is on the east side of the island. The views are stunning of beautiful beaches and is definitely worth a visit. There is a cooler breeze on this side of the island so makes for a pleasant outing and not too hot.
