Kailua beach and Lanikai are next to each other, and are very similar. Quiet perfection; sand, gentle waves, warm water, shade, shops nearby. Good toilet and shower facilities. Parking. The view is breathtakingly beautiful. It really is just like the pictures and the movies.

If you're staying in Waikiki, take the bus or hire a car and come check out Lanikai beach. Totally worth the drive. Unlike Waikiki which is a man made beach, Lanikai is amazing, great for beginner surfing, stand up paddle boarding. Parking is a little...More

This beach is pretty with lots of palm trees and a nice view of the islands but compared to other beaches on Oahu, I am not sure why it has such a great reputation. The beach is small, with lots of uninteresting, colourless coral and...More

Access is difficult due to parking limitations. Detailed directions and photos in Oahu Trailblazer guide. Bring an umbrella, no shade, just stunning blue water and pristine sand.

Absolutely no place to buy food and drinks. This is really all beach front houses so it’s not really a resort or tourist beach where you will have options and I made the mistake of assuming there would be options available and I had to...More

All of the previous posts have outlined all of the wonderful things about Lanikai Beach. A trip to Oahu would not be complete without visiting it. We visited early in the morning on a weekday and found no difficulties in parking. Bring your essentials as...More

Beach was amazing for a post pillbox swim! Beach was nice and sandy and the waves were small/non existent making it child friendly should you come here with any. Has changing rooms and toilets on site too.

The mornings are the most beautiful and peaceful as the sun rises on this side. Best to come in the morning and on a weekday.

It depends on where you are staying. You can take a bus to Kailua beech which is a short walk to Lani Kai. You can also take a different bus to Kailua where you can rent snorkeling gears. It will be a longer walk to Lani... More
