I am a recreational diver that's born and raised here on Oahu and been diving for over 4 years now. I have researched and joined other dive shops and can tell you hands down you will not get better customer service, services for the $99 annual club rate and comparable boat charters other than Aaron's. Two free tank fills per day, a free birthday boat dive, free t-shirt with your club membership and discounts on retail items included with the membership. I can honestly say the one draw back about Aaron's is they have only ONE location on island. Other than that, you will not be disappointed
with the staff or the service of Aaron's Dive Shop.

I was glad I chose to Dive with the folks at Aaron's Dive Shop in Kailua last Thursday. I had not experienced the Dive sites out side of Maunalua Bay and so this was an adventure for me. I was impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of the Staff. The Captain of the boat was really engaged as he supported the divers in the water and as we got back into the boat between dives and after the second dive. The Instructor leading the dive (Kitty) was just excellent. She kept the group together as we experienced the Dive sites and I really appreciated how attentive she was to everyone's remaining air pressure. She asked us for our remaining pressure several times on each dive... probably the exact example of what PADI desires in an underwater group leader. I felt very safe diving with Kitty and she gave us an outstanding underwater tour on each Dive.

Let me be clear: I was very happy with this dive charter. They are professional, helpful, bright, and happy. The cost for a two-tank dive was a bit spendy, but everything costs more in the Hawaiian Islands. We were able to meet them near the dive site as opposed to trekking up to the shop (1.5 hour bus ride as opposed to meeting them at the site, which was a 45 minute bus ride), they quickly set up all gear, switched tanks at the surface interval, and broke everything down at the end. They had really great pineapple to offer after the second dive, and they took us to great spots (Koko Crater and Turtle Canyon). My only issue, which is why this is 4 stars and not 5, is that we saw three octopuses and all three times, one of the other divers harassed it. They followed the octopus to a crevice and then repeatedly tried to stick their hand in the crevice to coax the octopus out/encourage it to interact with them. Not only did the on-dive instructor allow this to happen three times, but the instructor also participated in sticking their hand in the crevice. The rest of us weren't really able to see the octopuses and we waited around while the diver and instructor repeatedly tried to interact with the octopus. I do not condone this behavior and I wish I had intervened. I encourage any one who reads this to do better than I did and get involved. Sticking your hand in an octopus' space is the same as grabbing on to a turtle and should be treated as severely as such.

Mahalo for your review! Firstly, we appreciate your honest feedback. We want to immediately apologize on behalf of that staff member. You are right. That is not acceptable behavior. We are looking into the incident and working on fixing the issue immediately. Marine life harassment is not what we stand for and it is not something that we condone. That being said, we hope that you give us another opportunity in the future, aloha.

I had an amazing experience diving with Aaron’s. The shop was so friendly and my dive guide, Jake, was funny and knowledgeable. The equipment provided was some of the better rental gear I’d ever used, it’s always nice to have an integrated weight system. The whole shop and team were mindful of mask use and other covid safety precautions, which I also very much appreciate

TLDR, highly recommend Jane and Garrett for future dives for training or recreation, especially on the new Aaron's Dive Shop Boat in use.

Completed by Advanced Open Water Certification with Jane (Instructor) and Garrett (Boat Captain). High recommend both for effective communication and support in completing my PADI certification. Explanation of sites and skills were simple and succinct. I felt confident in area dive site prior to descending with clear feedback to ensure all skills/tasks were completed within our assigned time.

I had a schedule conflict and the team was able to quickly accommodate and support the completion of my certification.

We had a large group (10) with 80% teenagers which, as we all know, can be a challenging cohort to work with. The online advance coursework let our group get the tedious part out of the way on our own time and prevented anything from being skipped. It was very clear that if the computer work was not done, you were not getting in the water come time to do the skills. Ed was an excellent instructor in the pool. He has a very calm demeanor but was able to convey the seriousness of the training exercises. On our dive days we were able to go as one large group with the addition of Larry as our Course Leader. Larry and Ed played off each other well, with Larry hammering in points about why certain steps are needed and what could go wrong if shortcuts are taken. The teens offered big eye-rolls in response but afterwards said they had fun, that they really understood diving, and that they looked forward to trying it again in a different location. I consider that success! My last point is that COVID masking was never an issue: masks were on other than going in and out of the water.

Mahalo for your review, SuzieQ! One of the great joys of scuba diving is showing the underwater world to a new group of people. It is like nothing you have ever experienced! Even teenagers aren't immune to the awesomeness of scuba diving! As always, safety is our #1 priority - no one is having fun if we aren't safe. And our #2 priority is FUN! Hopefully everyone has a fun new life-long hobby. Thank you again for your review. We hope to see you all in the water!

Was referred to Aaron’s by Max when doing Try Scuba. I had my certification but realized that wrecks and many reefs were deeper than my basic certification would allow, so I signed up for the Advance Open Water course and it has been great! It comes with the online training, all the gear and 3 days of boat dives (2 a day).

Stephan was the dive master on both and he is knowledgeable and very helpful. On the first dive he was assisted by Amy who was also great. Last night was with Will. Garrett was the driver last night and I really appreciated his help with gear while I was suffering from motion sickness. Despite that I still had a great time and felt really taken care of.

I do think the night dive would be better if we left at 6pm instead of 5, so there isn’t an hour of waiting on a rocking boat between the dives, but otherwise, no issues! Looking forward to my final day and having the flexibility to do many more dives in the future!

Mahalo for your review, Whitney! And congratulations on your Advanced Open Water Certificate! Night diving and wreck diving are some of the most exciting scuba diving around. Hope to see you on the boat as you explore all that Oahu has to offer, aloha!

Small boat for a small number of divers so you can execute a fun dive plan and maximize your bottom time. Aaron's dive / boat team operates a clean and safe operation and they are good at selecting some of the sweetest pineapples for your dive interval.

I was able to dive 32% Nitrox and the dive team was flexible and customer oriented to ensure we were able to experience the best diving experience each day. Hawaii can have some swells, current, and wind in April.

FYI multiple 50 minute dives can get chilly this time of the year.

Arons dive shop really is the best place for advanced divers. Fergy (Scott) and E are very professional dive instructors who know how to lean back and let divers be divers without compromising safety. The boat is a little small but it does allow for small groups and friendship building that you don't find with the other dive companies. Aron's also seems to attract more experienced divers which makes the experience better for everyone.

I haven’t had a chance to dive in a while due to the pandemic. I was a bit rusty on the knowledge and gear setup. Aaron’s has a store in Kailua, went to the shop to schedule a dive, they were very prompt and efficient. On the day of the dive several divemasters were with us - Kevin, Paul, also Reuben, training for divemaster and Garrett, the boat captain. Everyone was incredibly kind and knowledgable, made it easy to set everything up and helped me refresh my memory in no time. I enjoyed conversing with Kevin, who made sure my experience getting back to the water was smooth. The boat was nice and spacious, ample space for everyone to sit comfortably. I rented the gear which were all very good quality, they also provided Nitrox tanks. The crew provided us with a defogger solution that was so great, I had zero fogging in my mask. We explored some great sites and in and out in the water was well organized and easy to do. On the way back to Kailua, Paul kindly agreed to give me a ride which was really helpful. I rode with Paul and Reuben and really enjoyed our conversations. I signed up for Aaron’s club and will be diving with them frequently while I’m in Oahu.
