It is a beautiful beach outside of a fun community. White sand and blue water. Plenty of space to spread out if it gets crowded. This is the windward side of the island so all of the people doing wind sports come out here which...More

Honestly, not a day goes by that I don't think of this beach. This is definitely a happy place. This is a gem that we visited on our last day. Beautiful sand, fairly quiet beach, parking was a non issue for us in March, there...More

This is a wonderful beach for families, couples, and individuals. Easy parking at the bottom end (as you look at a map ;) The beach is about 3 miles in length, with plenty of places to sit or wade into the water. It did not...More

At least Kailua has bathrooms so you can avoid the poo and pee issue that plagues Lanikai which has no bathrooms and the public using the ocean as a toilet. Parking is slightly better here as well, but still no where near enough parking as...More

Nice beach area and plenty of parking. List of water sports options. It was a rough and windy day so be prepared to take on some waves on a windy day.

I have visited here twice- 5 years ago as a couple, and last week as a family with a 2-year old. Kailua beach is simply great! Nice turquoise water with soft sand, much less crowded than Waikiki, one lovely "lagoon" with shallow water great for...More

Amazing beach with great access for kayaking. Facilities right there to change. A lot busier than Lanakai but you can kayak to the less crowded beaches. I recommend a waterproof bag for your belongings. Great for spotting turtles.

Same thing... the beach is about 1.5-2 km in length... it's the beach we found on O'Ahu... we stayed in Waikiki, but drove here 2 times in a week because we preferred this beach!!!

I am unsure about that. There are several trees on the edge of the sand as there is parkland between the beach and road.
