While Waikiki is great, Kailua is much closer to most peoples idea of a dream beach. Clean water, gorgeous sand, and great views unspoiled by over-development. And not too many people. But what there were (including great-to-watch kite-surfers) were all having a serene and happy...More

Very clean. Lots of locals swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing and just hanging out. Very quiet and quant. Natural beauty to absorb true Hawaii. Waters were pretty calm.

All helpful facilities like parking, shower and dressing space are settled because here is the park. Wave is almost calm, and here is also good for family with kids.

The ocean was blue when we got there. Beautiful view of the islets which makes it nice and relaxing. The beach may get busy but not crowded like in Waikiki Beach. Perfect place if you are looking for a relaxing afternoon.

We spent our honeymoon on Oahu and although Waikiki was way crowded and busy, we enjoyed driving and exploring the island and beaches! Kailua was the most stunning beach we have ever seen anywhere! Just awestruck by the colour, the backdrop, the sand... just wow!

One of our favorites especially when the kids were younger. Lots of room, showers, shade in some spots, no steep incline. A bit windy on most days but if you come early or later in the evening it’s not as bad.

Yes you ‘can’ do all of the above. But the only surfing to be done is off of flat island 1/4 mile off of the beach. Snorkeling is better at other beaches, sharks cove and electric beach are a couple good ones. Swimming is... More
