As I'm a local river guide at home, I wanted to explore the river here with a guide so we could talk shop while we paddled. I had a perfect few hours. My guide and I went out into the bay for a bit to watch the surfers (good swells), then headed upriver past fruit trees, farms and fishermen. The tide was high so we could get further up than normal, past the old sugar train bridge. The river is a popular spot for locals and visitors, I saw plenty of paddle boarders and kayakers---and a few inquisitive honu! Highly recommend this vendor, and the trip is good for all levels and ages.

David is excellent. The morning flew by as we talked about Hawaii, Honolulu, Oahu, different areas in the North Shore, kayaking and beach life, etc. He lead us along the coast out to the initial areas of the swells, gauged our abilities and limits well, and kept things easy for us even though we had never kayaked on open ocean previously.

We had such a great tour with Dave (Boogie D!). 5 hour tour of Mokoli'i (Chinaman's hat) with our two kids (14 and 10). He gave us great history and information about the area, kept us safe and really enhanced our experience. We were thinking of going on our own and renting kayaks, but this is really the way to go. Our lunch was terrific and we had a great day. A highlight of our Oahu trip - thank you!

My wife and I recently participated in Coastal Kayak Tours 7-hour north shore paddle, leaving from Sunset Beach, and paddling through to the Haleiwa Harbour. We even had the extra bonus of paddling up the Anahulu River after our excellent lunch stop on the beach. Dave was an amazing guide, first recommending we reschedule our trip to ensure great paddling conditions, and then describing the sights, sounds, and history of the area on our actual trip. Cat went above and beyond, handling all the equipment and preparing us a delicious lunch. Seeing this wonderful coastline from the water is an opportunity that shouldn't be missed, and we were thrilled with our day spent exploring the North Shore with Coastal Kayak. We'll be sure to book another adventure on our next visit to Oahu!

My husband and friend had the best time on this tour!!! We loved hearing all about the history and the funny stories. The guide was very informative and friendly. It was a nice and easy paddle over to chinamans hat. The top was beautiful and the parts below were really cool to see as well. Loved swimming around and looking at some of the blowholes! Definitely recommend this guide!!!
